If healthy bring him in see if he can produce mrs then Kelly ( in other words can he get on the field) and if so... cut Kelly. We may not know what Kelly can due cause he's been injured, but we do know what he can't do and that's stay healthy long enough to show what he can do or produce on the field.

Cut Cut Cut!

Unless he plays against the Cards and does very well, Kelly being cut is a lock. I rather get Coles than Bryant. I didn't realize Bryant was a headcase.

Ok looking at A. Bryants #s he has had one 1000yard season and a total of 30 TDs and only 5500 yards in 8 seasons. Not that impressive at all and certainly not elite. I do not know how much he would really add to our current recieving core other than expirience and a knack for getting hurt. He is in no way better than S. Moss as others have stated.

I am somewhat shocked to think he even got a 4year 28 million dollar contract.

VJ has had 2 back to back 1000 yard season on less than 79 rec, but his average ypc has always been in the nieghborhood of 15-17 which is in that elite category. He still has alot to build on, but he may be a player that gets his payday and regresses. Buyer be wary on his production as well.

Maybe someone can explain how Bryant is a head case? As I remember it he did well in Tampa then wanted a better contract, similar to what's happening with VJ. Didn't Tampa decide to trade him to Dallas cause he would't play for his cheap contract? Other then that what problems has he caused? Someone said he failed a drug test... how long ago was that?

Bring him in, put some rules in place, cut Kelly, and let's see if Bryant can get on the field cause we already know Kelly can't.

Antonio Bryant once took a swing at Bill Parcells. I don't know if that makes him a bad ass or a moron, or a little of both. Either way I still take my chances with Kelly before Bryant

Just heard on NFL Network that Bryant only practiced once with the Bengals because of his knee. $8M for one practice!!?? Wow. Good for him.

Damn, Kelly should bargain for a new contract.

You can dump Kelly at this point. We paid him similarly to what the Bengals did with Bryant. Except ours was over a 2 1/2 year period. We got nothing out of a 2nd round pick.

how is 4 years for 3.36 mil/1.6 guaranteed anything NEAR what the Bengals did with Bryant?

I'm hoping that Kelly shows Shanny something on Thursday to make releasing him a tough call.

How about his lack of putting up good numbers and making a big impact on a team?

Rumblings about Bryant's testy, prickly nature have followed the Miami native since his days at Pittsburgh, where he won the Biletnikoff Award as the nation's top college receiver.

He infamously blew up at Dallas Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells at a preseason practice in 2004, throwing a sweaty jersey at him during an argument. He took anger management classes and was traded to Cleveland a few months later.

Obviously, it turned out that Bryant's knee wasn't healthy. He never got on the field for a preseason game, and I guess the Bengals had seen enough to know that he wasn't going to be able to help them in the regular season, either. Letting him go after paying him $8 million for 172 days of light jogging is an indication that they were pretty damn certain of it, actually.

Don't hold anything against Bryant, though. I'm sure he was as optimistic and hopeful about his knee as anyone else, and it's not like he held a gun to Mike Brown's(notes) head and made him give him a contract. If a team's going to sign a guy, it's their responsibility to make sure all his limbs are functional first.

Bryant's a free agent now, able to negotiate with any team that's interested. It's hard to imagine anyone beating down his door, given what everyone knows now about the health of his knee. The silver lining, though, is that the Bengals have made him financially secure enough that, if he wants to, he can take a year off and concentrate on getting that knee healthy. Let's hope he comes back in 2011, stronger than ever.
