'08 Steelers did it with what i would consider a weak O-line for a superbowl team

Well.. I wouldn't say it was a weak line, but they had a few injuries that made it alot weaker. I know in 2007 Ben was sacked for the 2nd most in franchise history, but 2008 was a not so bad.

Although, it does help to win a SB with I would consider one of the top 3 defenses of all time.

Pointing out 1 time in 100 years isn't a bad ratio though.:cheeky-sm

just kinda playing devil's advocate there... for their skill levels they did play about as well as they could as a unit.

dallas doesn't have nearly the coaching staff or defense of that steelers team, though the offenses are comparable talent wise.

Interesting that in the preview he picks Balt as the Conf Champs but then he has them losing to Cincy in the AFC Championship.

Also he says the Steelers have a tough schedule when its 21st toughest.

The Don has been doing this forever...He starts a thread like this every year, don't see why this year is any different.

I'm Sorry Bucket but bill simmons compering Dallas record since 2000 is just stupid. none of the players playing today where here in 2000. if you want to talk record you start since Romo started as a QB because that's when your franchise QB started and how the change of a franchise starts. How can you blame Romo for the C. Carter years.

They talk superbowl based on the talent right now, trust me nobody talked superbowl in the Carter or Vinny years. Romo has a 38-18 record in the regular season he has taken this team to the playoffs in 3 of his 4 years the only one that he didn't he was injured for 3 games. Dallas has never had a losing record with Romo.

That's why they say Superbowl, and I repeat THEY. I don't believe we will be in the superbowl I hope but I don't believe why because I don't see the focus I see in other teams. I see a very good team but not great team. Not yet at least. I don't have that feeling where you expect a team to win each week like you do with IND, NE, GB, NO That's why I don't put them in the Superbowl.

I don't get why Romo gets so much criticism for losing in the playoffs his first 2 years and Peyton Manning gets a pass?. Romo record his first 4 years is 38-18 (67%) and 1-3 in the Playoffs without having a losing season. Peyton's record his first 4 years (taking away year 1 to make it fair) is 39-25 (61%) a 0-3 Playoffs record and a losing season his 4th year in the league (3rd in this scenario).

I've never seen anyone asking for Peyton's head or calling him overrated he won his first playoffs game until his 6th year in the NFL (5th in our scenario) and didn't won a superbowl until his 9th season as a starting QB.

I just think it's dumb all the crap he gets when in reality he's one of the top 7 QB's in the league.

Now Romo is starting the choking in Week 1 instead of waiting for December.
