Well I could go back and dig out my old repair bills on my last Grand Cherokee (97) and total up to the point where this Acura is and I willing to bet it was in the neighborhood of $2000 at 3 years and 60K miles, my Acura is at $850.

My wife had a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it was a POS. Nothing major but just always something breaking. I replaced ever power door lock motor, rear seal, crank sensor, $500 in trans. computer chips, and a few other things. If I had to pay for everything done I would have racked up some bills.

My brother just bought a 2011 Hyundai Sonata and loves it...says when compared to all the cars he looked at it was the best bang for the $$$. The Japanese auto makers better step up, the Koreans and Americans are gunning for them big time.

The new Sonata is a nice car. I am particularly impressed with its upcoming 2.0L turbo. It makes 275 horsepower (with nearly identical torque numbers), gets 34mpg, and runs on 87 octane. Those numbers just do not belong in the same sentence, but Hyundai did it. Props to them. If it proves to be reliable over the long run, it will become a legend.

Yeah, they're doing it big...it's getting great reviews. I was just watching the review video from Edmunds just now...checkout 1:50 min in:

you may love jeep but to act like they're a benchmark for quality would be quite ironic
