So, is your point that Katy Perry shouldn't have been pulled, or that hollywood/disney/sesame street et al should be more proactive in monitoring what images are put in front of the kids? Just curious because your posts seem to suggest you believe both those at the same time.

I think Katy Perry shouldn't have been pulled, and the fact that she got backlash when there is no backlash against the other people i mentioned is kind of like a double standard.

Im complaining because its like hey lets protect your kids from EVERYTHING, and when they grow up sheltered and have no resistance to drugs/alcohol or promiscuous sex, the same people are crying why something isnt done. Katy Perry was wearing a freaking green dress, it was not promiscuous, or revealing or anything...

She had on more clothes than anybody on the disney channel....

I think people need to stop bitching about stuff that doesn't need to be bitched about.

cheers to that

Katy Perry was pulled from sesame street after parents complained that her dress beared too much cleavage!!! She was singing a child-friendly version of "hot N cold" with Elmo.

Im not trying to be the moral police, but have parents paid attention to the Disney Channel sluts?? Also even in cartoon form the Disney Princesses show more cleavage than Katy Perry.

Miley Cyrus pole dances and strips, Demi Lovato allegedly makes a sex tape, and Vanessa Hudgens sends nude photos to friends. Is there not something in the water over there???

Come on people...Katy Perry was tame by other standards....

Why would Sesame Street invite a whore on the show anyways? They knew what they were getting.

As a father of a 2-YO, I don't want her on SS either.

I did enjoy when the First Lady was on though:

You gotta remember, this is Sesame Street. Purely for little kids. While we, as adults, may think what Katy Perry was wearing was tame for us, we have to decide what we are going to expose our little children to. What is tame for us might not be so tame for the children. Don't get me wrong, I love looking at Katy Perry (California Gurls video with her naked on the cloud..yum yum!) But, I wouldn't want her on a children's show showing cleavage or wearing a very short skirt. I just think it is inappropriate for Sesame Street.

I guess you have to decide if this is appropriate for a kids show. She is showing cleavage, but probably nothing you haven't seen at a wedding.

My conservative side says the dress is probably just a tad bit too revealing for Sesame Street, but not extremely inappropriate.

At least she didn't wear this:

Yeah, that's extreme for Sesame Street.

Weddings aren't planned for kids. Bartenders don't serve juiceboxes and DJs don't play Disney music...it's an adult venue. Sometimes, kids are not even invited.

Had not seen the outfit before, but that has no place on a childrens' show.

With that said, the producers had to have expected this kind of attention whorage from her. (new word alert!)

Apparently you don't watch the Disney channel. Stop making claims that are completely absurd. If you want to claim that Milet Cyrus wears slutty clothes in general go for it. If you want to claim she wears them on Disney then you don't know what you are talking about. I have kids. I watch that stuff every day. There is nothing even remotely slutty about the stuff they wear on that channel.

How about the dozens of times woman have been on the show wearing bathing suits? I would argue her clothes, to a four year old, are completely meaningless. Now if Sesame Street was a show for 12 year-olds maybe I'd feel different. For the most part I agree with Earth...find something more important to complain about.

This K. Perry picture has been altered I watched the clip and her dress where the cleavage is suppose to be was like skin color netting. Much like what a figure skater or Hooters girls wears on their legs.
