Someone asked who won last year. I believe Arrington won last year.
Coaches are not eligible under the current rules. Maybe under previous rules they were eligible and maybe the "committee" can decide to change the rules, but I am told that it has to be a player on the current roster who is the recipient of the award.

Griffin hands down. I would rank the 4 names:
1 Griffin
2 Smoot
3 Washington
4 Springs
All 4 have had great years.

no love for Tom Tupa??
Seriously though, I'd give a slight edge to Griffin but if he keeps missing games that could change

Tupa has gotten a lot more playing time than any of us here would have wished for! So he gets no love...
Obviously, if Griffin is hurt for the rest of the season, the calculation has to change. That's why I asked who you would vote for NOW.

griffin or springs... springs can cover, pressure, tackle etc... and he's always willing to talk to the media, even after all this losing...

For me it's a toss up between Griffin and Smoot, but I'm leaning towards Griffin
