And just think about it, we passed on DeSean Jackson, Calais Campbell, and Eddie Royal, Ray Rice and Brandon Flowers for Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly...

We also passed on James Hardy, Jerome Simpson, Limas Sweed, Dexter Jackson...

In fairness, DT and MK were the top rated WRs that year according to Kiper

This is another case of a trade rumor that will not go down...in my opinion.

Why?
Value.

A year ago we could have gotten a 1st rounder for Haynesworth...now?...we'd be lucky to get a 2nd...likely a 3rd.

DThomas at the end of the year could have gotten us a 3rd or so....but now...due to the fact that he cant crack the starting lineup with the weak recievers we have...we'd be lucky to get a 5th.

Why is their trade value dropping? Because both have essentially been demoted. You trade your players when they are doing well, not after dogging them publicly or demoting them.

The trade value DThomas now has that is a bit suprising is his kickoff return numbers. If a team needs a #2, #3 reciever AND a kickoff returner, we may be able to get a 4th...
I hope the Skins dont consider anything less than that because his value on this team is at least that.

Of course, if we can get VJ for Haynesworth AND Thomas, that would be a good deal...perhaps the Skins are trying to do a trade that does not have us relinquishing any draft picks.

I am confident that is the reason we have not traded him to date. AND why we are going to keep him and showcase him a bit in the 4/3. SOOOO, if we are so inclined after the season, we CAN get a high pick for him..........

From what I'm hearing, his head isn't in the game.

he apparently has done a video with fantasia and is all about wanting to be a TV star.

If he's not putting a 100% in his practices,he's probably ticking off the coaching staff.
If this info is true and he's got a lot going on outside of Football,I am totally in favor of dumping this guy for someone who wants to win a championship.

All of the above

Devin Thomas= Epic Bust

Bullshit! You're telling me Devin Thomas can't get on the field to run a button hook? A screen? I also think Thomas scores on that catch where Armstrong trips over the turf. The guy can even block from what I've seen, so why not use him on a chip block occasionally or a crack back? Something!

How can anyone make the argument that Devin Thomas can't break a tackle or go up for a jump ball or be used as a decoy to stretch the field? Physically speaking, there's not ONE receiver on our team more gifted than Devin Thomas. It just doesn't make sense on so many levels.

The only conclusion I can come to is that Mike Shanahan loves veteran, warrior practice players. Look, Shanahan is a competent NFL coach but I seriously question some of his methods at times, which has ill served this team in my opinion.

There are quite a few of us who knew from the start of this clowns pro career exactly what Mike Shanahan figured out even before the start of camp.

Devin Thomas is not a viable NFL wide receiver. It's just the way it is.

He damn sure looked viable last year against the world champion Saints and one other game. And how do we know he's not viable if ain't seeing the dang football field?

I think you may be exaggerating a bit here. But it I am curious to know why a player like DT hasn't given a chance in a real game. The only think though is as SS mentioned, DT has been on the trade block for a while, so I wonder if they were looking to keep him healthy? I dunno.
