Armstrong's drop was absolutely inexcusable. McNabb dropped it in there perfectly. Cooley's early drop was pretty bad too.
They're gonna have to seriously evaluate Brown's health after this season. Is the hip a chronic problem or will he heal up eventually? Right now scary to say but Heyer is probably the better option.

And on McNabb's last interception, Galloway seemed to have no idea the ball was even coming his way. Where's that savvy veteran we were expecting with Galloway (for the record, DT was inactive in Carolina)

I think it's pretty clear how much his speed covered up for a remarkable lack of technique in his game. He's pretty much the anti-Derrick Mason.

This.
Also, in past years the D would keep the stats good, but would not get the turnovers, or hold on at the end. This year, 2 x the D has gotten a defensive score and that has been the difference in the game, and in the Colts game even though we lost, they stiffened at the end. I like this D far better than last year's.Absolutely the case. We have two defensive scores this year, which matches our total from 2006-2009.

We have, I believe, as many takeaways through the first 7 games this year as we did each of the last two full seasons

Which is one of the most obvious reasons that we are scoring more. If returns are random, then more total returns will mean more returns for TDs.
Then there's the element where we no longer consider it a waste of practice time to let the defense practice returns on interceptions. Granted, I'm pretty sure Hall scores without blocking on both of those TD returns this year, but at least we won't run into a Kareem Moore/Robert Meachem situation again.

And it's definitely a style of play. You see players swarming around the ball, and guys taking shots at getting the ball loose. I imagine that could be adding to the yardage as there is emphasis both on tackling and causing turnovers, but so far I would say the increased turnover production has been far more critical then the number of yards gained.

According to Rich Campbell's weekly update on Rugged Torain, 8 broken tackles against the Bears and 107 yards after initial contact
