I know a lot on here disagree, but we need to go after OL and DL in the first and second round. The last 2-3 years, OL and DL have been given more priority in the draft, and we need to make our move early. Shoring up the OL with really good young guys will give us the continuity we need along the line for years to come. Average running backs put up All-Pro numbers behind great lines. Look at Mike Bell when he was in Denver for an example. In the latter rounds, go after the BPA no matter the position. There will be alot of talented players available late in FA that we will be able to get cheap to fill the rest of the wholes.
Players I think should be cut/traded
Galloway
Heyer
Docker
Rabach
Hicks
R. Williams
Beck
Sellers
Portis
Carriker
Haynesworth
Holliday
Doughty
Buchanon
Galloway was cut last week.

True every single one of these players might suck (except for buchanon), but 14 player turnover is madness....Especially when every starter on the interior o-line is gone. Keep in mind, we only have 2 picks in the first 4 rounds. Hopefully 2 more picks will make the team. Also keep in mind, that we will need even more players after injuries. Also keep in mind that we very likely might loose some players to FA. I just don't see every one of these guys gone. Doughty, Buchanon, Carriker, Heyer IMO are all definately going to stay at least 1 more year.

That is why I said those are the players I would cut. And teams have released double digit number of players before. They don't all have to be released/cut. Some could be traded. Some of them would be worth 5th -7th round picks.
AH is the only one from your list with any trade value.

Cut them all. Use the 1st and 2nd round pick for a RT and Center. Shore up the OL as best we can with young talent. Bring in a bunch of UFA's. We don't have crap now so whats the harm? get younger and healthier and faster.
Look for a NT in FA and late in the draft (5th round). Pick up a FS, and LB late in the draft or FA.
EDIT: I forgot WR.... pick up Vince Jackson and Whosyourmama. Cut Moss.

None besides haynesworth are worth squat. One of our only 2 16 game starters on that list we swapped 6th round picks to get.
We got rid of double digit guys last year. I just dont see us doing it two years in a row. The talent just isnt out there to upgrade on that many players. If they are on the market, that MOST likely means that their original team didn't value them that high.

Heyer: Keep him
Docker: See if you can trade him, will be tough though.
Rabach: Cut
Hicks: Cut
R. Williams: Cut
Beck: I'd keep I guess
Sellers: CUTTTTTTTT
Portis: Keep
Carriker: Keep
Haynesworth: Sigh...
Holliday: Cut
Doughty: Cut
Buchanon: Keep
Many of these guys weren't meant to be long term fixes anyway.

Or they don't fit into the scheme the team is using, ie; AH, Carter, and the 3/4. There are others especially on the OL since none are zone blockers or cut blockers. Most are man to man blockers.

I think I'd cut Heyer also. He was a nice feel good story but he has not lived up to his supposed talent. Unless they can prove he's a better at Guard I see no reason keeping him. I like your other cuts though but would also add Portis. Unless his contract is going to hurt us I cut him. I know about his value that everyone keep drilling about but it's only pass blocking. In MS's system anyone can run and look good. Plus Portis has not finished out a full season in the last few seasons. Groin or hamstring flip a coin that will be next yrs injury. Moss as well.
