You guys were in heaven with DM, now he has underperformed, so now you are ready to see if one of the lamest NFL Qbs in recent memory is up to snuff? I think what a lot of people are missing or choosing to ignore is that the reason a lot of us blasted the Raiders for having Russell was because they committed a # 1 draft pick and millions of dollars in this guy. We're not in that position. We brought in for a workout, if we sign him it would be for...wait for it...the vet min.

There's a huge (no pun intended) in making JaMarcus Russell your starter and committing millions of dollars in him and planting him at the end of your bench for relative chump change and see if he shows any signs of progress.

No one is saying he's going to roll in here (again, no pun intended) and become our starter and lead us to an 8 game winning streak then coast to the Super Bowl.

No I don't have a hard time figuring out what this "fan" thing is all about. I just don't spend alot of time on "Cloud 9", so would you please send me a postcard while you're there? The reality is that JR has more physical talent than the NFL has probably ever seen from a QB, and he was drafted by a dysfunctional organization with a shitty line and no leadership. Being forced on the bench and not playing at all is not the same as given the starting job and playing like shit. The former situation, the QB is not playing in games. In the latter, the QB is playing in games.

Russell had 2 years show AT LEAST SOMETHING, and he didn't. Actually, we stomped him into embarrassment last year. Rak would not have had 4 sacks if he wasn't a clueless bum out there.

Not only that, the talent-evaluators all had him pegged as the #1 freaking pick. Brady and Green were unknowns just trying to make a roster. With Russell, MANY EXPECTED A DAMN PRO BOWLER and instead got 2 years of shit. Sanchez, Stafford, Cutler, Freeman, all have been showing SOME SORT OF PLAY-MAKING ABILITY. Russell did not when he had his chance.

So if they do sign him, is it Beck or Grossman who will be gone?

my guess would be neither one....last pics i saw of russell lead me to believe that he would be a great fit beside haynesworth on the D line

Let me remind you that Al Davis benched Marcus Allen and Eric Dickerson for Nick Bell in 1992. Two Hall of Famers were benched for a scrub. It means nothing that he was benched by arguably the most dysfunctional organization in the last 20 years.
