Sean Taylor Memorial week 11/27

this is a good thread, i'm not really sure what the problem is with remembering a great player, INSANE it's not like everyday we're sobbing and throwing up "I MISS SEAN" threads. i mean he impacted my life in a fairly large way. I didn't know him at all, but he was my last favorite player i will ever have. after he died i remember hearing about his crazy work ethic and leading by example. I especially remember hearing something his father said about hoping something good would come of his death. About a week after his death i told myself i would never stop trying to improve my life and those around me, because we don't have forever. I'll tell you how Sean impacted my life and see if might INSANE want to lose "the get over it!" attitude

I have mild spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy-which means i walk with a walker or i did at the time of Sean's death....now I use crutches. Sean's death was the catalyst for my change in attitude and also work ethic because i used to not care about getting stronger or stretching my legs, now i go to the gym 5 days a week about, 2 hours per day, along with stretching 2 additional hours a day and i have been for about 2 years now.

I don't tell this to be inspiring or whatever, I just tell you because Sean Taylor did change my life for the better, I will never forget him

PS- taking the time to remember him once a year isn't going to kill us is it???

There are a lot of threads started on this board where you wonder how the people can tie their shoes but to criticize a topic that continues to affect a lot of people on a much larger level than football is pretty bad.

Then to switch to focus of the thread to yourself when obviously no one cares what you think on this topic is even worse.

Go hijack another thread, Insane. The best thing for you to do would be to stop commenting at all on this thread.

We can remember Sean but remember him correctly. If Patrick Crayton ran by him several times how would he have knocked Jackson out. You dont have to put down Landry to build Taylor up. Landry is playing as good this season as Sean ever did. Did Sean have a chance to be great yes but that chance was snuffed out by 3 thugs.

I understand thinking about what could have been and I still do it sometimes but the time for memorials has passed.

on a side note JFK was President there is a bit of a difference.The only Patrick Crayton play I remember VIVIDLY was #21 BLOWING HIM UP in crunch time of the big win at Dallas in 2005 (the Santana Moss game):

Man, this clip is one of the three Sean Taylor clips I watch from time to time.. I absolutely love the hit on Reggie Brown, it shows how massive Taylor was..

Just because some of us still remember Taylor, doesn't mean we did not move on.. We are simply remembering him, there is nothing wrong with that.. I always have Sean Taylor wallpaper on my computer or phone through out every NFL season since he passed away (my current wallpaper is the hit on Reggie Brown on my Pre)I look back at Taylor clips frequently, because it brings me to a place where I knew that I was watching the evolution of the greatest safety ever. What struck me watching Taylor clips recently is that almost every one of his big highlight hits was led by a shoulder or forearm BELOW the helmet, which would have been clean by today's highly scrutinized standards. Some guys have to lead with the helmet to be intimidating. Getting hit by #21 scared the hell out of opposing WRs, because it was akin to getting hit by a car - where the entire body gets blown back. The Crayton and Brown hits are two prime examples of many such hits that Taylor had. I still imagine - how good would he be today at 27, just coming into his prime years?

He was an amazing player I got a lot of Joy watching him play football. Always forget how freakishly big he was. I remember him being fast but not that big! Great player and died protecting his house and his family, cant really go out more honorably than that!

What ever happened to the guys who shot him that night?

The last I had heard the trial had been postponed yet again. I know the death penalty is off the table though.
