Figured I'd put a review of this game up. Gets a 9.5/10 from me. Great game. But if you prefer a more realistic racing game GT5 is for you. (Sorry XBox360 guys) The -.5 came from when you first start driving its kinda weird but you get over it pretty quickly.

Heard great things about this game, and was looking to buy it because I use to be a huge fan of NFS starting in the PlayStation days. However there is no local split screen gaming, which I find very stupid. I would like to be able to play friends who dont have the game.
Is it a 'Burnout' type of racing game? I'm a fan of the Burnout games.

Yes it is, if you like Burnout, you'll love Need For Speed

That's what I need to hear. I've been into Burnout Paradise on the PS3 for a while now, but I'd love the option to take cars off the road, as I get endlessly frustrated while I'm racing in Burnout and I hit a car that I can't see coming from around a curve, and it ends up costing me a race.
But what exactly is it about NFS that makes it so much better than Burnout?
The last time I played NFS: Hot Pursuit it was for PC and I absolutely loved it. Never played it on the PS3 before but I'm thinking about buying it if I see a decent price for it eventually. (I remember buying Assassins Creed 2 for PS3 for 36.99 off a Amazon.com deal back when it was still 59.99 regular price)

It was 39.99 at Gamestop this past weekend.

It's made by the same people who made Burnout, so that helps.

Ouch. Too bad I'm still jobless and have higher priorities, otherwise I'dve bought it. I can wait though, I'm not in any rush. Video games are pretty low on my list of priorities at this point. And I didn't know NFS was made by Criterion, but you are right that does help.

Mooby, NFS games are not normally made by Criterion. This is one of the first.
Picked up NFS yesterday... awesome game! Big two thumbs up!
