Skins fans have been saying this for the past 5 years!!!!!!! If it is not the free agents, it is the new coach who is going to change things (shoettenheimer, SPURRIER, Gibbs), now it is Portis and Ramsey? Not sure how long you have been around here, but mattyk and all the old-timers can verify I have been around off-and-on since this site was a Yahoo Club, and I have seen the hope in Redskins fans every year. When I go to see my brother I always make it a point to listed to as much sports-talk radio as I can find to hear all the skins fans' optimism.

Ade, explain to me how Eli is a bust. Note: being the top pick overall and being the future QB of a rival does not qualify as evidence that he is going to be a bust. If the Giants took Roethelliswhyismynamesodamnlongberger and Eli was 11-1 with the Steelers, you'd be saying Ben is a bust and the Giants should have taken Eli. Come on, enlighten me.

Why the hell wouldnt we be optomistic? I dont care who your a fan of, theres no point in being a fan if your negative about anything. I think your wrong about saying we dont have anything to look forward too, for once somthing we have to look forward to is taking place on the feild and not in the papers. We have a top 3 defense in this league. Period. I'm really excited about that, because we only have one guy who's gonna be a free agent and I think were gonna resign him. I'm excited to have that back, and they have shown me why I should be excited on the feild, every single week, without faulter. I should be excited about that.

I'm excited to have Patrick Ramsey next year. I think he showed yesterday what he CAN do. Not what hes going to do each week, but he defintley proved he has matured a little bit, and you can see that he manages games better and has a better feel for the game. I'm optomistic and excited about Clinton Portis, he's a very good running back. Now while the offense has only shown flashes, I'm still excited as hell, because I think they can put it together.

I'm not going to tell you, that the Giants dont have better days ahead, because they do, they have alot of young raw talent, mixed in with some good vets, and they are going to get better. But dont try to tell us that we arent a improving team, and have because we are.

Bust. (bu-st) n. A NFL player who is picked too high in the draft just because his brother was successful and they slept in the same bunkbeds as kids. (sentence: "Man, I can't believe that NY wasted all of those draft picks on that arrogant a-hole Eli Manning - what a freakin' bust.") See also: Ryan Leaf, Heath Shuler.

Bust. n. 2. Aka. "Rack." The upper torso region of a woman (preferably age 18-20) or your average NFL offensive lineman.

Consider yourself enlightened.

The media will run them out of town? I love how people from outside of New York think the NY media is the big evil bully who pushes around the athletes. If the MEDIA had their way, Fassell would have been fired in 1998, and Joe Torre would have never been hired. The Giants and Jets do not have the same media situation as the Mets and Yanks.

Oh, so he was the top pick only because of his name? Hmmm, I do not recall Ryan Leaf's or Heath Shuler's bunkbed-mates ever playing in the NFL. You are calling him a bust because he was picked by the Giants, end of story.

How should the crowd act during a thumping of a division rival? I guess they should have just sat on their hands and said, yeah today is great but remember we're only 4-8 now. I'm sure the blowhards in Giants stadium wouldn't get excited over a big win.

I don't care what the records are, a home crowd in that situation is always going to be pumped up, if they aren't there's a serious problem.

The Skins have been struggling mightily on offense, the fans have been waiting for a day like this all year, let us enjoy the moment, who cares what the records are.

Hola fellas, long-time no see.

Anyways, went to the game yesterday. My little brother lives in Fredericksburg, so I made the trip down Saturday Night.

For starters, whoever designed the parking situation should be sentenced to death by Chinese Water Drip torture. What a nightmare to get back to the damn Apollo lots. Who the hell puts a church right next to the damn stadium??????

As for the game, I have never seen my team play so poorly. Couldn't even get excited about the TD return. It is one thing to lose, another to get man-handled on both sides of the ball by a 3-8 team. As for the crowd, I was amused. Some of your brethren were acting like they won the Super Bowl rather than a 5-7 team in the midst of a 5-game losing streak who is missing their 2 best defensive players (strahan and wilson).

A lot of hostlity around here today, not in your post, but others,I've never been to the stadium but the parking probably does suck,my cousins go and I've heard them say rfk was much better,as for the crowd getting excited, you cant blame them, especially the way we've been playing and not scoring any points,it probably felt as good as the s.b.
As far as manning is concerned, way, way too early to tell whether he'll be a bust or not,he has been facing some excellent defenses
and your right ,we have been saying wait till next yr for 5 yrs,but hell, what else are we gonna say? but at least you've had another coach take ya'll to the superbowl since parcells,I wish we could say that since gibb's left

While Eli is a rookie with a lot of potential, dont forget the Redskins have a rookie
with just as much potential on the defensive side of the ball in Sean Taylor.
He is the same size as the Giants greatest player of all time, Lawerence Taylor, he is only 21, and HE PLAYS SAFETY....

The redskins have some good things going....

You have Sean Taylor and Gibril Wilson the Giants 3rd round selection at safety has had a better season. What is your point?

matty, I know what you are saying. It was a powder keg that finally exploded. It was still entertaining!!!!

Can I just ask cogg who exactly rattled your cage? You go on about fans whooping and a hollaring and beating their chest but this was the game we have been waiting for all year. If the Giants had dominated in the same way are you saying they would just shrug thier collective shoulders and make thier way quietly to the exit?

noone got in my face or anything like that. Just saying it was funny to see fans going crazy when the bottom line is their team is 4-8. That's all.
