Thats why I work for myself and probably what my employees say about me.
I'm pretty sure there is a "F...Firstdown" thread around here somewhere....started by your employee's??

Its funny because yesterday I had to cover for a different AM at a different store and it's amazing how smoothly all their stuff gets done compared to our store.
Ask for a transfer. Less stress will make up for the distance. :food-smil

Hopefully S1 is employing a little satire as he is want to do. A move like this is high risk/low reward with little chance of success. Although you are undoubtedly a solid competant, if not outstanding employee, you will likely be branded a malcontent, non-team playing rat.
AND the other employees will definately try to get your ass as will the manager. You have to be a little more subtle with things like this.
BUT I do agree with O'Saden1 as you should try to start working to get yourself headed for a more professional field where you can expect more.
I am being serious. If he's throwing him under the bus you best believe the district manager already doesn't think him a team player. At the very least he's unreliable. If he wants to continue serving as a stepping stone for a two bit store manager by all means make a career out of it. If he otherwise he wants to move up in the world he needs to grow some fcking balls. Stand up to him or find another job or continue to be his little bitch....those are the choices. Go get it!
I have no problem with a direct approach.....but
You and I both know calling out your boss to his peers or his superiors will rarely go well. While it is may be the entertaining and the jusified choice, He'll be looking for a new position either way. And the PC BS that corporate America indulges in makes it hard to shake the label of "NON-team player".
It's hard to tell the truth anymore for sure....a little diplomacy?

How you are perceived and treated depends on what kind of a man you show yourself to be. I don't take shit from no one and they know this from the moment they deal me. You should never have to call out your boss but if you have to the worst that could happen is you might have to leave job or transfer to another group. If your boss is a prick everyone probably already knows so you're really not losing stature by standing up to him.
Nobody should have to be a whipping boy, but there is a world of difference in that and being percieved as a back stabbin' SOB, rattin' out the boss, etc. Behavior such as that will not be tolerated in any successful company

So the district manager and I had a conversation and apparently I am on the verge of a promo so I should wait it out until after X-Mas

not to be a downer, but can you trust the manager's responses. It just seems like a convenient way out of an unpleasant meeting by implying, but not guaranteeing any promotion. Then after the season is over, comes the classic "well it was never really a sure thing" line. Did he/she tell you specifics as to why you would have to wait? Was it part of a normal and written policy?
Just curious. hopefully, my cynicism is just in high gear today...
