I don't see anything wrong with his statements. He was the scapegoat. The team had a circus organization, decimated with injuries, had a poor receiving core, had no feature running back, and one of the worse offensive lines in the league, yet he was expected to take them to the playoffs. Unrealistic. I said it then and I'm saying it again, Campbell was not the problem. He needed a better supporting cast. Getting McNabb was a waste. Campbell would have done the same job and that third round draft pick could have been used on a position player that could help the team in the long run. Now the Skins have to rebuild at quarterback, all over again.
Nailed it! I couldn't agree more. :food-smil

Campbell was not the only problem. But it's not like he was without faults. Whatever, what's done is done. Time to move forward

I rooted for JC this year, and I also rooted for D. McNabb. The offensive line was a big big problem while Jason was here, yet Jason got the blame, so I think he's right about being the scapegoat. Donovan could say the same thing and there were a lot of problems with the offensive line while he was the QB. So Jason was the scapegoat, just as Donovan was the scapegoat this year.

I will say this. The O-Line was obviously a big problem. However that was little excuse for McNabb to have the type of year he did. I remember during the Titans game when he had all day to throw yet he still couldn't hit receivers in stride. The worse play being on the interception to Galloway over the middle of the field after McNabb stood untouched in the pocket for somewhere around 7 or 8 seconds right when we had been driving down the field. And this wasn't one of those plays were Galloway wasn't at fault.
Also keep in mind McNabb was coming off a year where he had a 92 QB rating after 13.5 games with 35 sacks. Yet this year he posted a 77 rating in 13 games with 37 sacks. It's not like his time to throw was a radically different compared to last year. Maybe it was the system, maybe it was the fact that Desean Jackson was replaced by Santana Moss, but he didn't have a huge drop in quality when it came to pass catchers.
Anyway my point is if McNabb was the QB we thought he was he would have been able to do a bit more with the situation he was in. He might not have posted a 20-10 3,500 yard 8.0 year, but his numbers and the offensive production should have been more respectable.

So he plays for the Raiders, and he loves it. Way to go Jackson. When he was here he was ALMOST replaced ONCE. ONE offseason his starting job wasn't as secure as he wanted it to be. He was drafted to be The Guy. He jumped over Patrick Ramsey who I think really was the one who got the shaft if anyone did. Never mentions how the FO loved him then does he ?
Sent Brunell to the bench and was christened as The Washington Redskins Starting QB. Plays and loos ok but all he needs is to get _____. Get's hurt while the team is on their way out of the playoffs faster than I sweat bullets when I see those Red, White, and Blue lights flashing in my rearview.
Todd Collins comes in and takes the Skins to the playoffs defeating some pretty good teams and that offseason he DOES NOT HAVE TO COMPETE FOR HIS JOB ! Get this again, does not have to compete. He had what 3-4 years where he didn't have to look over his shoulder but he was treated unfairly during his tenure.
His last season with the team was the only one where it looked like he would be replaced. How that turned into his entire Redskins career is confusing. Or I guess the fact that everyone can't remember what happened is the most confusing.
It was one offseason folks. Just one.
As I said before, I wish him peace and happiness.

People need to get over Campbell, period. It's like an obsession. Can't wait for the obsessive Haynesworth threads next season (when he's somewhere else).
