Good points S10!
Here is a good way to gauge your marriage. Go out and hang with your single friends for a whole night. Do the the bar thing and what not. It is awful! Paying six bucks for a beer, can't hear the person next you, watch them get shoot down by women (if they even try), etc... By 11pm the time I want with my single friends I was ready for bed and my wife. Part of that is my age (38) and the other part is knowing it is much better to be a happy married guy then a happy single guy.
A lot of people think marriage doesn't take work; those people are divorced.
For the record I still hang out with my single buddies but it usually just to go watch a game with them or hang at their house.

The worst part about wedding planning is realizing how much everything cost and that there's nothing you can do about it.

So true! The sadder part is a year later when even your wife looks back and says that was a waste of money for certain things.
Just roll with the punches it is really their day in the end.

I had a buddy who spent what we figured was around $100,000 on his daughters wedding and two yrs latter they split. I'll have to say it was one hell of a good time.

I'll have to say my wife was pretty cool and calm through our wedding. I found out 10min before our wedding started that the band (one I played with) thought I was getting someone to play base and showed up without a base player. So I'm on the phone 5min before our wedding calling a someone to see if they could fill in.
Which base? 1st, 2nd, or 3rd?
