Could have been them, who knows.

From what they told me it was the highlight clips we were hosting that caught their eye initially. And there was some guy in my area selling DVD's of past Super Bowls, they suspected it was me at first.

Funny I presented the NFL's attorney with a list of fan sites that had team names in their domain, nothing has happened.

Oh yeah, forgot about the vids, wouldn't be surprised if that could have been it. Just interesting how other sites, Redskinsheads, etc are still up.. but I think that they were in their infancy when this went down. I wouldn't have submitted the list to them though.

$$$$

I think it's more guaranteed money. The NFL doesn't like to take to many risk so more times then not they go for the one carrier willing to pay a premium for exclusive rights rather then have multiple advocates making money for the league. Still the way they go about it from video games to Sunday Ticket has always rubbed me the wrong way.

By the way is anyone else scared to death of this attempt by the government to take over the internet? I'm not a political guy nor a conspiracy guy but this sudden public interest in internet kill switches as well as the government seizure of Atdhe has me screaming BS.

Well, here's how it kinda went

Me: why are you picking on me when there are countless other sites doing the same thing?

NFL: we're not aware of any other sites

Me: really? How about this list of sites just off the top of my head... I can list plenty more if you want.

NFL: fair enough we'll look in to it

A few weeks later I emailed them back again and said so how's that follow up going, never heard anything back.

Honestly if this were my site I might find that in me. Not being in that position makes it easier for me to commentate. Just never liked the well Billy got away with it approach.. I lost a shitton of valuable cards in elementary school because of some (insert disparaging remark here) and vowed to never tell on anyone to help myself out since then.

I remember how silly that time was though, getting singled out. IIRC I shot you a PM with some similar domain names that weren't protected but I was pretty much a nobody then, my how things have changed, jk

Someone needs to give the Intelligence Community Homeland Security's number:
US intelligence on Arab unrest draws criticism - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110204/ap_on_re_us/us_us_egypt_intelligence)

before the revolts in Egypt and Tunisia.

"These events should not have come upon us with the surprise that they did," the committee's chairwoman, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., said in an interview. "There should have been much more warning" of the revolts in Tunisia and Egypt, she said, in part because demonstrators were using the Internet and social media to organize.

"Was someone looking at what was going on the Internet?" she asked.

Apparently they were to busy watching sports online. :cheeky-sm

This domain name has been seized by ICE - Homeland Security Investigations (http://www.atdhe.net)

Why was the domain seized by ICE? I can understand issues regarding copyrights, but I'm not sure that I get the immigration/Homeland Security angle. Shouldn't ICE be finding illegal immigrants rather than worrying about football broadcast copyrights?

Could the US Government really shut down the internet because in Egypt they only had to deal with 5 ISP's? In the US we have 1,000's of different ISP's not to mention a US internet kill switch. Certainly it would be more difficult to execute.

Damn Canadians. Always jumping our boarder looking for warmer weather and football where the endzone isn't 2,000 yards long. When are we going to build a fence to keep the Canadians out of our country.
