Snyder Camp Upset!!

Dan Snyder is still ----ing with this organization by claiming he has been defamed with the caricature of his likeness.

Did he ever consider that his law suit would have a negative reaction on everything dealing with this team that has taken place thus far? This compares to signing the "has been talent" in his early years. Throwing money out the window to lazy athletes. Having Vinny around to kiss his rear-end by taking on the negative reactions that should have been aimed at Dan.

How can someone publicly say that he supports Dan Snyder? Dan is selfish, and, not one of us. If the Supreme Court abolishes the namesake of this team, Dan will be blamed for it because he brings shit down on this organization because he does not think before filing bone-headed law suits or spending beyond a player's worth. He says he's disappointed with Albert Haynesworth, but he turns around and opens his mouth about being negatively characterize as an incompetent businessman.

Your negativity and love for the Washington Redskins has put the Redskin nation in another down-spiral. Please think before engaging your love for this team.

Exactly. Someone else brought that up on either a TV show or an article. The main thing being that the anti-semitic motives behind the horns and mustache drawing is at best minimal (and thats a huge stretch). By reacting in such a way to something that wasn't even remotely anti-semitic he has put a huge bullseye on the teams namesake, because the more "passionate" native american groups can turn around and point to how Dan reacted in this incident.

It's like "oh so a drawing of you with horns is anti-semitic but we're overreacting when we say we're offended by the team name?" Thanks again Dan.

The best thing for Snyder right now would be to come out, and apologize for overreacting to the article. Come up with some crap about how he was frustrated that the team was only 6-10 and he misplaced his anger. Whatever just get this crap to go away and stop being a vindictive prick or better yet he should sell the team to Ted's group if the satirical pieces bother him this much.

Thats what I dont underdstand. All this negative impactful hoopla for a tongue n cheek article titled something funny like "Disgruntled Skins fan guide to .. A to Z" with a picture of him and childish drawings on him that was printed in the City Paper for people to read on the Metro.

I just cant bring myself to care as much anymore. Im resigned to accepting we suck and will suck for the foreseeable future.

And what I am trying to say is, what else do you expect from a rich and powerful person? I'm sure all rich and powerful people in this country are not like them, but probably a lot of them are.

That being said, while I do think Snyder has overreacted (but I'm not surprised that he did), I also think that the media in this area (and the country) tend to beat the dead horse over and over again in regards to Snyder and the Redskins. And maybe...maybe this article got a bit too personal. Yet I don't think Snyder can win this suit (although I am no legal expert).

Yes, he will definitely lose the lawsuit. But with any luck he will get the author fired for having the gumption to jump in the middle of the highway.

Like Dan chopping down trees so he could have a better view from his property?

The guy is a travesty and a parody waiting to happen. He owns the team that I love. I blame the NFL for selling this team to him. The NFL knew what kind of owner he would be. He even PURPOSELY over-spent for the team thus insuring him of a niffy return should he sell it. This should have been an omen to the fan base that Snyder cares not for the team but cares for making a big splash in the public arena.

My politics tend to support more taxes on the rich, but the fact is that jerkness doesn't discriminate between rich and poor. There are plenty of rich people of boundless generosity and friendliness, and plenty of poor people with the demeanor of Snyder. Not everyone with Snyder's wealth would respond to criticism that way Snyder seems to routinely do, and many of them apply general approaches in how they deal with other people that would help them avoid having publications chronicling their screw-ups.

You should really blame Jack kent Cooke for not leaving the team to his son as opposed to making it so that the team would be put up for sale so that your charity could get more money. Really you kind of should be happy because JKC's charity got more money because Snyder "overpaid" for the team. It was an omen to me just how much this team was worth, or how important it was for one to own it.

So I say blame Jack Kent Cooke, because had he just left the team to his son then we would've won 7 Super Bowls by now right ?

Not yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if the lawyers for the native american groups that are against the teams name used this lawsuit as an opportunity to go after the team name again. However like Snyder's lawsuit they're not going to get very far. Like this story though they will probably end up annoying us.

here's a predicition that I'm half serious about:

As summer gets hotter, there is no CBA in place, & it looks almost certain that some of the season wont' be played, the Danny calls on the only man that's been able to keep him quietly in the shadows of Redskins Park - Joe Gibbs.

Gibbs comes in as a consultant to speak about what the Skins did during those strike years when they won super bowls. And hopefully for the danny, we once again think big, remember the 80s strike seasons & forget about our 21st century soap opera era.


If the labor situation progresses as you postulate here, the "Gibbs as a consultant" angle is VERY likely to happen. And it might just happen before the summer heat sets in...

Had JKC's son bought it, we would have an owner that was on a beach somewhere sipping margarita's, while we fans moaned about his lack of investment in the team. (that's my opinion)
