For whoever said WIlliams didn't do well in Buffalo. His defense was still awesome. As long as he can get someone to run the offense. A well known coach (by then, who knows) but all of us know Snyder is willing to spend the cash to get the best offensive mind in here!

...... Urlacher? Maybe he's not as great as everybody makes out but he is still pretty good what MLB doesn't need tackles to keep the O-linemen off of him even Ray Lewis need's big guy's on the inside, I think their splitting hair's on a few of those guy's, .....

It is true Urlacher is the second best MLB in the NFL. But Ray Lewis is head and shoulders better MLB than Urlacher. Ray Lewis is a complete MLB (has all the tools). Urlacher is great in the open field, great speed and skills guy, but lacks the toughness/physical strength in the in small space. I have seen Urlacher get picked up and moved by top offensive lineman. I have never seen Ray Lewis or Arrington (for that matter) get dominated by an offensive lineman.
That is Urlacher's ONLY weakness. Other than that he is great.
The only reason Urlacher is the NFL's poster child for MLB's is Ray Lewis got caught up in that whole Superbowl mess where some guy got killed. Lewis was lucky he did not end up in jail. Since then though Lewis has been a good about not hanging with the wrong crowd. But damage was already done to his public image.

I agree totally about LA. He is a good LB but not the great gamebreaker that I think everyone expected.

I hate to say it, but they have a point about both these players.

ESPECIALLY, when you take the dollars they are making into account.

Is Samuels worth 9 million dollars/year? Not in a million years. Is Levarr worth the money he is getting? Nope.

Both of these players are making about twice what they should.

That being said, I think Arrington has the desire and is definately an athletic freak of nature. I think Williams will help turn him into a player who earns his cash.

Samuels should be cut at the end of the season if he doesn't renegotiate for a more resonable contract.

wonder if seeing Lemar Marshall perform so well and being part of the no.2 defense w/o him will temper Arrington a little bit.

exactly what made this defense so good was that no one was being a 'star' (except Sean Taylor). everyone played their roles to the plan and thats why no offense knew what was coming. everyone had a chance to get a sack in, Williams mixing everything up putting no obvious emphasis on anybody. everyone marvels at Pierce and it's because he plays smart and sound without making ANY splashy plays.

any criticism of Sean Taylor this year is exactly because he tried TOO hard to stand out, and is most likely why Williams kept Bowen and Lott in front of him until they got injured.

if anything, having LaVar out this year deprived Williams of a defensive DECOY along with a handful more sure-fire sacks.

I really wish we could have seen LaVar all year in this defense.
