ethat001 03-08-2011, 10:47 PM Read an article about it.
In its report, SI.com said Barber reportedly left his wife of 11 years, Ginny, for 23-year-old Traci Johnson, a former NBC intern. Ginny was eight months pregnant at the time. Soon after, NBC cited its morals clause and terminated Barber's contract, which reportedly paid him more than $300,000 per year.
In June 2010, the New York Post reported Barber was broke and couldn't pay his divorce settlement with his ex-wife.

So:
1) He's broke.
2) He just went through a divorce, because he married an intern he knocked up from NBC when she was 8 months pregnant.
3) Got fired from NBC for knocking up the intern as above.
Too bad that a 36 year old guy considered a candidate for the Hall-of-Fame is considered already washed up, broke and unable to get a job. Every other career and he's in the prime of his career. He's got little chance to succeed in the NFL - but if someone picks him up he'd get vet min $700-800k... So perhaps he IS smart for trying again.
Giantone 03-09-2011, 03:48 AM Maybe we should have a poll
Who will score his next NFL TD first?
Tiki Barber
Herschel Walker
................I hear the Redskins will sign him,him and Plax.:food-smil

Read again, it was his wife that was pregnant.
Monkeydad 03-09-2011, 09:40 AM Scumbag. Ditched his pregnant wife for an intern. I'm glad she drained his bank account.
I actually used to like him as a person, not so much as a player...he torched us.

Wasn't aware of this mess before...so I change my stance...leave the bum to the other 31 teams. I'll still like to see Herschel try out though, but it sounded like he only wants to play for the Falcons.
I don't think Walker can be a big contributor, I just want to see him try. Guy is a beast and who knows...maybe he can.
12thMan 03-09-2011, 10:03 AM Pain, you funny!
I'd be surprised if he made a team though. I mean, I'm sure Willie Parker and LJ are/were in better shape than Tikki and they struggled.
sandtrapjack 03-09-2011, 10:10 AM Like when you decided to root for Dallas.. :food-smil
After what I saw this season, its never "too many" beers.

Yep, the douchebag is broke and that's the only reason for his comeback. I need MONEY for sticking my peepee in the wrong place.
Alvin Walton 03-09-2011, 12:24 PM Jim Fassel is reasdy to give him a job.
From rotoworld - Jim Fassel, president-GM-coach of Las Vegas Locomotives, plans to call Tiki Barber to let him know that a roster spot is waiting in the UFL.
Last we heard the UFL was having major financial issues, which puts them in the same situation as Tiki. The Locomotives may be Barber's only shot at a consistent workload, allowing him a shot to prove to NFL teams that he still has life left in his legs.
Longtimefan 03-09-2011, 12:26 PM Preach. The Giants have already said they'll release him, and I don't think he's in any sort of football shape from what I've heard. And it wouldn't surprise me if this was a money ploy. And he is a piece of dirt, if even that.
Tiki Barber, take two: Comeback about dollars, not sense (http://www.thegrio.com/sports/tiki-barber-take-two-former-giant-attempts-huge-comeback.php)
BringBackJoeT 03-09-2011, 01:17 PM By the way, did anyone hear Shefter's comment about Riggins this morning on Mike & Mike? He was talking about Barber's possible return, and he mentioned that Marcus Allen and John Riggins, respectively, gained the most yards in a season at 36+. He was making the point that the two of them were very unique, and with regard to Riggins, he said that Riggo "was a physical freak of nature." I liked that.
