SKINSnCANES 12-21-2004, 10:20 AM man I would have never guessed that we have so many grinches on this site. Im sad that ill be missing snow again this year. Next year ill be back in the snow, and perhaps be upset after a few storms. But you can only go to the beach so many times before you start to miss it. SmootSmack 12-21-2004, 11:03 AM Yeah, but Canes you and I are from Maryland. We'll see as much snow in one month here as the upstate New Yorkers will see in a day. Snow here isn't nearly the nuisance that it is up there SKINSnCANES 12-21-2004, 04:17 PM Maryland usually gets a lot of big storms. I grew up in Frederick county so I usually got about the same as new york. Its amazing how much less snow the dc area, and bethesda got compared to me. Its only like 30 miles apart, but I guess those 30 miles north, closer to the mountains makes a difference. SmootSmack 12-21-2004, 04:55 PM Maybe someone from upstate NY (Matty, NY_Skinsfan) can confirm this but I'm almost positive that the amount of snow they get is ridiculous. Keep in mind they don't live in New York City, they're way up there in New York. Big difference....I think Paintrain 12-21-2004, 05:41 PM Maybe someone from upstate NY (Matty, NY_Skinsfan) can confirm this but I'm almost positive that the amount of snow they get is ridiculous. Keep in mind they don't live in New York City, they're way up there in New York. Big difference....I think I can vigorously confirm this.. True story, 10th grade (back in 1986) we got 18 inches of snow from Sunday morning until it stopped about 10pm Sunday night in Schenectady, NY.. 7:30am Monday morning I was walking my cold @ss to school.. I had many a Little League baseball game cancelled well into April because it was snowing outside. The last high school football game I played in was on a Friday night in early November, 2 inches of snow fell during the game. If I ever hear the term "Nor'easter" again I will probably soil myself. monk81 12-22-2004, 08:33 AM Look when it's 98 degrees from May until mid September we Texans LIVE for "winter".... I just love it when it gets cold.....why theirs even talk that we might get snow flurries Christmas Eve........a big deal for us here in South Texas........ Lows are going to be in the 20's and highs in the 40's and 50's....finally feels like Christmas..... P.S. I love watching those NFL snow games too................brings out a kid in the players when there's a soft snow falling during a game.... I have a relative that lives in upstate NY it's always cold, always a lot of snow even in April.............. monk81 12-22-2004, 08:36 AM Maybe someone from upstate NY (Matty, NY_Skinsfan) can confirm this but I'm almost positive that the amount of snow they get is ridiculous. Keep in mind they don't live in New York City, they're way up there in New York. Big difference....I think I have relatives that live in upstate NY (saratoga springs) and they have white outs and lot's of snow.....even at the end of April still snowy........They make fun of us in Texas when it hits in the 20's........cold for us......they tell me it's 20 below up there.......not too far from Canada............. MTK 12-22-2004, 08:55 AM I live in the Albany area so we don't get as much snow as the Buffalo area, if you want a ridiculous winter just move there. Lake effect snow, not a good thing. Still, we have our share of storms each winter where we get 2-3 feet dumped on us in one shot. monk81 12-22-2004, 09:00 AM I live in the Albany area so we don't get as much snow as the Buffalo area, if you want a ridiculous winter just move there.
