Does anyone recall the final list of names for the Bullets? Wasn't the name Wizards voted by the fans for the people?

Love it - wish they could change the name back to the Bullets. Great step.

Sea Dogs and Dragons

Well good thing none of the finalist among Dragons, Sea Dogs, and Wizards had anything to do with the KKK.

So apparently changing the name isn't so easy because of intellectual property/legal stuff. But it sounds like Ted would want to do it. At least he didn't shut the idea down at all. There is hope. I'd be up for a change to just about anything other than wizards.
Not so fast my friend:
A respectful, Monumental-driven future for the Washington Wizards - Washington DC Washington Wizards | Examiner.com (http://www.examiner.com/washington-wizards-in-washington-dc/a-respectful-monumental-driven-future-for-the-washington-wizards)
He put emphasis on how he and the organization wished to remain respectful to the late Abe Pollin and Pollin's decision to change the name of the franchise at the start of the 1997-98 season, which all but rules out any return to the name "Bullets" in the near future.
Whether it's true or not remains to be seen, but I'd imagine as long as Leonsis is the owner, you won't see the name "Bullets" back in the fold.

Anyhow, I like the retro look and the nuances of the new logos. The Wizard logo looks horrible, but I think that'll be pushed to the wayside before long and replaced by the dc logo.

An old school song to express how I feel about the actual uniforms (not the logo and color scheme). "no no no no no."

Actually, it would have to do more with COST and league fees than copyright and legal issues.

In fact, the NBA has a $500,000 fee to change a team's primary logo. This is why we still have a re-colored, bearded Wizard man, even if the team does not use him as a primary or at all. A lot of NBA teams have primary logos they don't use anymore, with their secondary/alternate logos being emphasized. That fee to change the primary is why.

The Knicks, Hawks, Jazz, Wolves, Hornets, Cavaliers and Raptors are some of the teams not using their primary logos like primary logos.
