I REALLY had forgotten and I hope we are very agressive in FA for our O-line...If Rex is to play QB under the current Oline, he will heva to get faster...
Maybe that's the strategy? Get the fastest QB available???

Disgusting. A QB (Mallet) should've been drafted.

yep.

I say we keep Santana Moss around forever just to play the Cowboys.

I don't know how much of it made it into the final video but the announcers, particularly Goose, were frequently commenting about how much time Rex had to throw that day. Granted they still gave up 5 sacks, but they still were doing a great job of protecting Rex for most of the day.

Heck, even Rabach looked good. It really might just be a case of keeping the group together. If you look at the Texans O-Line, they're really not that special in terms of names on the interior, in fact in terms of raw talent they're probably not as good as our 3 starters.

Funny thing about Moss is the fact that thanks to him we were in a position to win the game but on that final drive he dropped a very important pass that could have gone for a 20 or 30 yard gain.

Yow....I was not counting how long he had to unload the ball, but it seems to me he spent a lot of time in collapsing pockets and avoiding DE's.
I only watched the first game so far.

True but I also saw enough plays where the O-Line was stopping 7 man rushes with only 6 guys. Again mixed feelings on line. Personnel similar in talent to previously successful Shanahan lines. 3 young players as well as marked improvement in second half of the season. Then again the number of sacks given up especially compared to the Houston line in 2009 (46-25) is disturbing.

Still can't deny how improved the unit was over the late 2008 and 2009 units.

Will Montgomery was dreadful against Jacksonville, but he belongs at Center anyway. For what it's worth, 2010 was Rabach's best season since 2007. He's the worst pass blocking center in the league, but he's typically reliable at the second level and on screens.

Dan Hellie......didn't see a John Beck pass over thirty yards at todays practice that wasn't a duck.

It's still early. Beck has probably been enjoying his offseason and not ready for the repetitions at this point.

If he's granted the starting position he should hold up under Shanny's scheme.

I was surprised at small amount of games Grossman has started in his career. Other than 2006 when he started 16 games, his next highest number is 8 games in 2007.

Year Starts
2003 3
2004 3
2005 2
2006 16
2007 8
2008 4
2009 1
2010 4

In 2006 where Grossman started 16 games he threw 20 interceptions. Last season Grossman threw 4 interceptions in just 4 games. Not good. This is a concern because Grossman has started 41 games and has already thrown 40 interceptions. He is a stop gap guy and that is all. I would rather play a young guy and let him learn then waste our time with Grossman who is never going to be elte.

QFT Grossman blew a 17pt lead in the Superbowl with one of the best defenses in the NFL. He had all the momentum, and couldn't close, just a myraid of mistakes. No thanks..
