GMScud 07-07-2011, 10:11 AM I didn't really understand the point of it. Tough first year, lot of work to do to improve this team in year two. Shanahan himself could have told you that He's piling on, which quite frankly is so easy a 3rd grader could do it. The Redskins have been an easy target for a decade. Not a very insightful article, just kind of rubbing salt into an old wound. Reid should really learn to pick his punches as a journalist. If you hope to have good access to the team under this administration, it doesn't really make sense to trash Shanny at this point over last year's news. FRPLG 07-07-2011, 02:22 PM I liked what JLA did with the Insider and JReid basically continued it. Now that Reid is a columnist I am not very impressed. He certainly didn't replace Wilbon in terms or quality. I have a hard time understanding why so many mdeia types love to pick on Snyder getting involved and then complain about the team when he backs off. Because Dan Snyder doesn't have the charm of a Jerry Jones to be a raging douchebag who can diffuse most situation with a "aw shucks" southern drawl. diehardskin2982 07-08-2011, 01:54 PM The Washington post insider has been straight garbage since it came out. All of the writers like to bash the team because they don't feed them info. This new guy they have is really terrible he repost past articles and barley updates. I know some of it is the lockout, but he could do something like follow different redskins players during the lockout to see what their up too. Just plain lazy. I have never heard anything reid has ever said that is positive about the skins. He often reaches and focuses on glaring mistakes to justify his stance. WE ARE REBUILDING, COME ON MAN! GusFrerotte 07-12-2011, 08:15 PM Sports writers are the bottom of the barrel, with a few notable exceptions like Mitch Albom, Wilburn, Korny, etc, but for the most part they are just lame. Some of the veteran mods and just lay posters in here could out write FOX Sports.com guys any day of the week. If he wanted to be critical and somewhat original(going out on a limb I mean), he could have done a re analysis of our draft, but even that would have been lame, since we did pretty well with addressing needs. I just hope Kerrigan can make the adjustment to LB like Orakpo did. Dirtbag59 07-13-2011, 12:15 AM Some of JLC's worst habits are starting to rub off on Reid. I don't mind him being critical, certainly better then the Larry Michael types, but more and more of the pieces lately sound vindictive. If this was like the third or fourth straight year under Shanahan and Allen with no playoff appearances then fine, but we've only had one year under Shanahan and it was spent trying to clean up the mess left by the second least competent GM from the past decade. |
