I'm looking forward to next season....
Poll: Who wants us to lose next week?skinsguy 12-29-2004, 12:13 AM I'm looking forward to next season.... SmootSmack 12-29-2004, 12:15 AM I hope that Sunday is the first of many wins for the year 2005 SKINSnCANES 12-29-2004, 08:26 AM I'll be rooting for us to win, I always will. But I will be rooting for the two teams with four wins perhaps a little bit more, and wont be sad if we lose. We can knock Minnesota out of the playoffs with a win I think, which is alwyas cool. I dont see us drafting a top five player this year though, im sure we will trade down and try to get a few extra picks. sportscurmudgeon 12-30-2004, 02:17 PM In a different thread, I said I hoped the Skins would beat the 49ers and the Cowboys and then lose to the Vikings. The reason was that I did not want anyone in the FO to think that this team was just one player away from greatness - because it isn't. I do not want the Skins to go on another free agent shopping spree - they will anyway - and make massive roster changes yet again - they will anyway. Now that they are mathematically out of the playoffs and have lost to the Cowboys in about as ignominious fashion imaginable, the FO will probably realize that they are not one player away from the Lombardi Trophy and MAYBE they'll make offseason decisions based on building a long term winner instead of based on how splashy a press conference they can hold. So, now I want them to beat the Vikings. I don't care how they do it; I just want to see them do it. It's shocking how many people wanted to run you out on a rail for that sentiment, and how many of them are jockeying for an early pick now. There is no discernable difference between the 3rd and tenth pick. Let me repeat myself. There is no discernable difference between the 3rd and tenth pick. Based upon who is picking ahead of you, there is no telling who will be picked anyway. There will be quarterbacks picked too soon, and middle linebackers picked too late. Mel Kiper will have too much influence, and half the fans will be unhappy with who we pick anyway. The only thing you can count on is that there will be at least two busts picked in between 3 and 10. We may as well invest #10 pick money, rather than #3 pick money. Daseal 12-30-2004, 05:27 PM Hell, last year there was a huge gap from 7-9 between Roy Williams (in my opinion the best receiver in the draft) and Reggie Williams to Jacksonville.
