Monkeydad 07-28-2011, 11:28 AM Rabach is GONE!??!
/END free agency.. CELEBRATION!
Incredibly successful FA just from removing McNabb, Haynesworth and Rabach. Some nice additions, but they're just bonuses!
Really smart moves too, quality players addressing many spots without paying for the elite FAs and minimizing the moves we can make.
I'm impressed by the FA. Just squeezing 3 draft picks out of McNabb and Haynesworth seems like doing the impossible.
GTripp0012 07-28-2011, 11:31 AM I don't think there's any reason to believe the Redskins will win many games this year...and that wasn't true last year.
But this really has been a much, much better offseason for the team than 2010 was.
Monkeydad 07-28-2011, 11:34 AM So we're making upgrades at most positions, filling the D with 3-4 guys, removing the problem-children Haynesworth and McNabb, losing the worst Center in the league, loading up on WRs and RBs...having most of our roster with a year under their belt in both the offensive and defensive schemes...and we're supposed to regress?
I think we're pushing 8-8.
McNabb was horrible last season with more INTs than TDs. Beck can do at least that badly, likely better since he has so many options around him. Just protect him.
Dallas has had to cut a lot of good players and Roy Williams because of their cap issues. They're currently at a net loss this FA. Philly has not done much yet and have some issues, plus when Vick goes down, who is playing QB? Jeff Garcia? Brett Favre?
The Giants collapse every year late and just re-signed Coughlin.
The NFC East is always tight in the standings, but our 4 teams are not the forces they used to be despite the records. It used to be the toughest, most talented division in the NFL...no more.
I think the D will be much improved. Hard to say with the offense.
GTripp0012 07-28-2011, 11:36 AM Please remeber there is a cap floor, which we are under. We are far from done.$45 million to spend, but we spent about $18 million that on Cofield, another $6 mil on Moss, $7 million on Wilson Should be at least another $13 to $15 million on Jenkins. Add in the rookies and the receivers we added, and we're already at $40 million.
So yeah, because of the cuts, there is still more money to spend. But Grossman is still out there and we still have OL moves to make, and we're going well, well over the spending floor just based on what we still have to do.

for some reason roto is blocked by the gov so i cant ge tot it at work
yeah, im sitting here at ddeamc and rotoworld wont come up either, along with twitter or any of the social networking sites.........sux.....and the CSM of the Army came out and said that the Army would be relying heavily on these new sites to get the armys message out there, for recruiting, blah blah blah, and we cant even access them on government computers..........pure shit.
GTripp0012 07-28-2011, 11:39 AM I think the D will be much improved. Hard to say with the offense.I actually see it the opposite way. Our passing and running personnel is unquestionably improved over last year. Our defense remains toolzy, but without an obvious reason to expect improvement. No Kareem Moore, I guess.
GTripp0012 07-28-2011, 11:41 AM By toolzy, I mean that Cofield, Jenkins, Orakpo, Fletcher, Landry are all good players, but the only obvious players who have defined roles are Landry and Carriker. Whole lotta confusion beyond that.

Talent wise the D should be much improved and deeper, and include better fits for the 3-4 overall.
Offensively the talent is improved but I think it's going to take some time to come together due to the shortened offseason.

How have we improved talent offensively from 2010?
