ESPN: Devin Thomas not secure until he's playing the 'Deadskins"Alvin Walton 09-13-2011, 07:27 AM Wonder how is word tasted at dinner last night.. Like crow. Monkeydad 09-13-2011, 09:40 AM I spotted him during the game on a kickoff return. He got blown up, short of the 20 yard line. He's #15 now. Jontrem 09-13-2011, 10:04 AM I had high hopes for Devin, if only because every other pick that year sucked. Fred Davis sure made a case in week one that he should not be on that "sucked" list. He was one of our 3 2nd rounders that year. Now I dont think he will come close to doing that every week but he has contributed well the last 2 years. artmonkforhallofamein07 09-13-2011, 10:57 AM Fred Davis sure made a case in week one that he should not be on that "sucked" list. I think he may have a good shot at getting a lot of action this year. We ran alot of 2TE sets and some plays FD was in there and CC was not. He made some awesome catches and saved Rex a few times by catching overthrown balls. FD, I believe has arrived. BTW if we can use 2 TEs like New E does both of our guys will be productive. firstdown 09-13-2011, 12:32 PM After seeing the Giants play I see why they kept DT. Its nice to see our rejects can actual be an improvement for the other team. Ops did he even play? Did any of the giants WR's play in the 2nd half? mooby 09-13-2011, 12:41 PM His stats for today. Kickoff Returns D. Thomas 1 for 21 And it was the best 21 yards gotten on a kick return ever! He showed us. SmootSmack 09-13-2011, 12:50 PM You know, I still can't figure out why DT said what he said. Was he just trying to be funny? I don't know. Because I've heard him say many times over the past year (both on and off record) that he's grateful to Shanahan for giving him the reality check he needed that pure talent wasn't going to get you far in the NFL if you don't put the work in as well. JoeRedskin 09-13-2011, 01:16 PM And it was the best 21 yards gotten on a kick return ever! He showed us. Yeah. But did you see him in that game against New Orleans in 2009? He was soooo awesome! mooby 09-13-2011, 01:18 PM Yeah. But did you see him in that game against New Orleans in 2009? He was soooo awesome! I've said it before, but one career highlight does not make a high round draft pick choice worth. I will admit at the time though I thought DT was actually breaking out, and was going to finally prove he was worth a 2nd rounder. Instead, all we got was news of his disappointing work ethic holding him back. polywog 09-13-2011, 02:07 PM You know, I still can't figure out why DT said what he said. I think that's a kind of joke that falls flat when someone has paid you a fortune to not produce. In football, you don't shoot off your mouth. PERIOD. If Mr. Thomas finds himself unemployed, will the redskins call, now? Even if we need help? You just don't badmouth a former employer.....it's too small of a world for it to not come back and bite you. :nono: |
