And I remember it like it was yesterday. But, I am still the gold standard when it comes to beginnings on the warpath.

For anyone who doesn't know the story of Rookie Quake.

Basically a small percentage of new members become a little ambitious and enjoy starting new threads on a whim, mainly to get attention, since no one really knows them on the forum, along with the idea that people won't take them seriously with a low post count. I had the same problem myself, I think my first thread back in 06 asked if we needed a new DE, it was locked soon there after.

Here was my jenuis idea for a new thread.

I ended up making something like 4 new useless threads from 1-18-06 to 1-22-06. So I was pretty bad myself during my initial period.

Quake though went on a terror. During his first 7 days he made 8 new threads, mostly on slightly odd topics. His saving grace was nice formatting on the titles.

Mark Brunell, Phillip Daniels, Renaldo Wynn, Shawn Springs ( 1 2)
EARTHQUAKE2689

Dwight Freeney to Skins? ( 1 2)
EARTHQUAKE2689

Nate Clements Versus Fred Smoot
EARTHQUAKE2689

Alan Branch versus Gaines Adams and Jamaal Anderson ( 1 2)
EARTHQUAKE2689

Quake, as well as my own initial experience, is the reason though why I always give new members who cause chaos and mayhem a second chance. Though guys that go a little crazy when they join could easily end up being some of the forums more productive members. Granted I'm still trying to be a productive member but I think I'm on track. AceInTheHouse for example, was a guy I figured for a Quake like turn around but he hasn't been around lately.

My first thread title was so brilliantly named "Carlos Rogers." I think it was made right after we took him, and in the middle of posting it Detroit took Mike Williams, who I wanted. It only took 5 years and a change of teams but MW has finally started to pan out haha.

Slightly odd, those things were about as farfetched as tryfuhl's "ask me anything" thread. Man I miss those days.
