What was the point of learning cursive in school?hooskins 10-03-2011, 06:02 PM Nerd fight! http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gaEOAdq2M90/SrR9k1l4xQI/AAAAAAAAAe4/nAXpseOxncw/s400/nerd_fight.jpg SmootSmack 10-06-2011, 08:24 PM MediaShift . In the Digital Age, Is Teaching Cursive Relevant? | PBS (http://www.pbs.org/mediashift/2011/10/in-the-digital-age-is-teaching-cursive-relevant279.html#comments) SirClintonPortis 10-20-2011, 05:03 PM Dude, you're the one starting all of this mess in the first place. If you're going to try to smart off to someone in hopes of making them look dumb, how about proof reading what you write first? "Oh, you want to going into a war..." What in the blue hell does that mean? I would suggest before splitting hairs over the proper use of a word, you learn how to complete coherent sentences first. Drop the -ing and the phrase is complete. Not to mention that tu quoque does not necessarily absolve you of any wrongness of your own position, it just points out that one's hands are "unclean". While you're toting around your degree, the a proof by contradiction can speak for itself. The CPU is defined as central processing unit. The Central Processing unit has certain properties. It is a chip that carries out the program instructions. The computer has many various definitions. But I'm sure that storage and retrieval, and displaying what it's doing are some of the functions we expect a typical PC to do. That means that the computer can stuff files in a hard drive, load things into RAM, and display pretty graphics on a monitor. So, let's assume the computer and the CPU are the same. That means that the little chip can perform functions that a whole computer can do. That means that the little chip can store data indefinitely and can display graphics all by its little lonesome. This contradicts reality. You need a hard drive to store data, and an integrated chip or video card to display video. By contradiction, it is proven that the CPU=/= to the whole computer. Knowledge of linear algebra(a separate subject from just algebra) will help one understand how google's search engine works. firstdown 10-20-2011, 05:49 PM Knowledge of linear algebra(a separate subject from just algebra) will help one understand how google's search engine works. And why do I need to know that? | |
