So that makes you... 110?

Just kidding. I graduated from high school in '91, my first year in college was a blast, and the Skins memorable season made that year just perfect.

Actually, I will turn 68 on Friday of this week.

When I graduated from high school, the commencement address was given by a brontosaurus...

And while I was in high school, they were able to teach the entirety of World History in 3 days.

I watch Redskin games from the 1991 season every now and then. The Redskins were truly a complete team that year. Monk, Sanders, Clark, Byner, Riggs, Ervins, and the Hogs. The defense had Wilbur Marshall, A.J. Johnson, Tim Johnson, Fred Stokes, Charles Mann, Danny Copeland, and so many others.

I think that the 1991 Redskins team was slightly better than the 1983 team. Had the 1991 team faced the Raiders in Super Bowl 18, they would have won.

One of the few teams that pretty much went injury free all year long. Guys like Johnson and Stokes seemed like bad asses on the Dline then a fewyears later it was like thay all just dissapeared. Tim Johnson was a phisical freak of a man, i always thought he looked bigger and meaner than the rest of them.[/QUOTE]

Congrats!

But listen...we've been meaning to tell you. Well, you know the season's almost over and we won't be starting any Redskins Game Day threads in the playoffs. So...we're going to ask that you sit out these next few games and we're going to let Earthquake start a few more threads instead. We just wanna see what he's got

Part 4 of 6:

Washington Redskins 1991 Season Highlights (Part IV) - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yj569_WWYv4)

This is the video to watch (9:28 still chokes me up). Okay, I'm partial. I went to this game. 20 degrees of rain and hard sleet in your face. All. Day. Long. One of the best memories with family that day. Still have my seat cushion.

No disrespect to 4 super bowls in 10 years, but I want some new memories, some new stadium rock. I want to hug strangers in stadiums again, lose my voice, not half-ass the fight song after some limp touchdown Shanahan managed to piece together. Remember how everyone bought everyone a round of beer? How Gary Clark hated to lose? I want that intensity back. Maybe it's there, I dunno.

You born in the Snyder era deserve the same. Keep hope alive.

You know, I was watching Super Bowl 22 today, and realized that in today's NFL, the Redskins would have gotten called many times for roughing the passer, as well as a few personal foul calls on a defenseless receiver. I also saw a pass from Rypien to Byner that would have been called incomplete. Couple that with the non-call on the pass interference toward the end of the first half, and that game would have been A LOT closer than what it was.

My apologies if this was brought up earlier in the thread, but it kind of makes me chuckle a bit by how strict the officials call games now - at least on the Redskins. You can definitely tell a HUGE difference in how much the officials are trying to protect the players nowadays.

It's a different game in many ways, and not just when the Redskins play.
