It should be noted that the editor has claimed it was a honest mistake and it looks like most people believe him. Perhaps he was so not-racist that he was mistaken for being racist. I guess you have to think like a racist now-a-days to not be a racist. If it was truly accidental i dont think he should have been fired. At the end of the day he is an editor and he should know that stuff, but with so much PCness out there people are going to make unintentional mistakes.

The former ESPN employee, Anthony Frederico, responsible for publishing the offensive headline spoke with the Daily News, both to apologize for any harm done but also to claim that he had not used the phrase with any racial motivation.

This had nothing to do with me being cute or punny," Anthony Federico told the Daily News. "I'm so sorry that I offended people. I'm so sorry if I offended Jeremy."

Frederico claimed to the Daily News that his choice of the oft-used sports cliche was an "honest mistake" and not intended to make light of a racial slur used against Asians.

The NBA is fake? I don't follow.



I agree with mredskins. Obviously its real athletic competition but the NBA is about as entertainment oriented as a sport can get, before falling into a different category. I love basketball and can watch college all day. I can watch classic NBA games. I can watch olympic basketball. I cant watch NBA.
