Lorenzo Alexander also working out at TE!
Washington Redskins: Lorenzo Alexander Taking Reps At Tight End « CBS DC (http://washington.cbslocal.com/2012/05/09/lavar-dukes-lorenzo-alexander-taking-reps-at-tight-end/)
Lorenzo is attempting to enter the HOF at all 22 positions. Next thing you know - "Hey Cousins, sit a few plays out. I want Zo to take some snaps under center for us, just in case."
Game Day Announcer: "Alexander snaps the ball to himself, drops back to pass, throws long and catches it at the 20." [Hey, so long as he doesn't put on short shorts and try out for the cheerleaders, more power to him].

Joking aside:
(A) Alexander continues to be one of my favorite guys ... I would buy that jersey.
(B) Shanny does seem a bit concerned about the TE position. Even if its only for emergency purposes, having Alexander prep for the position suggest Shanny can see a point where we may need to reach done to a 5th TE (Davis, Cooley, Paulson, Paul ... Alexander).

Maybe it's solely for goal line blocking for RGIII sneaks.

I love blue collar/team guys and LA is the epitome Of such but.... This is a scary scenario if TE has something going on we don't know yet (is Fred going to last this year/next, is Cooley expendable?)

really sounds like they're concerned about TE, but obviously not to the point that they reached on a draft pick for it. Maybe I'm paranoid that Cooley will be cut.
Can't blame Shanny though for worrying about the position given Davis' situation & Cooley's recovery. Also I think this signals that the staff is not happy w/the blocking w/Davis & Cooley. Cooley has improved greatly but is not a great blocker. Davis could improve a lot in that area too.

Chris Cooley has to show he's healthy during minicamps or he's likely gone

Cooley has been one of my favs, but I think the above is fair.
Moss is a different story IMHO. He's the only proven WR on the roster in this system and Mike would be an absolute fool to put his eggs in the Garcon, Hankerson, Morgan basket. Hankerson had one solid game as a pro, coming off serious injury. Garcon and Morgan are brand new to the system. Morgan an injury risk and Garcon historically inconsistent.
...I think Mike has already been a little silly to name these three guys as potential starters while leaving Moss out. Sometimes he looks/acts like young, inexperienced coach.

Could also be based on the Cap Hit, Cooley's due alot of $$$ this year if we release or he dosen't want to redo his contract and we let him go we might need someone to step in. We have to remember we have a limited amount of spots on this team the more things you can do the better your chances.

I totally forgot about them using Cooley at FB. Now that Sellers is gone, he could see more action there, provided he is healthy. Not saying he's gonna get a lot of reps, but they need a backup FB.
Who else at present is a backup to Young?
