RGIII Ready to Report (Signs Deal)The Dull Roar 07-18-2012, 02:42 PM Leribeus shouldn't be long now. Slingin Sammy 33 07-18-2012, 03:34 PM do rookie contracts allow signing extensions before the end of year 3? or is it the end of year two?Under new CBA, only after year 3. Slingin Sammy 33 07-18-2012, 03:36 PM True. Perhaps the FO made the determination that the precedent it was setting would not necessarily govern the vast majority of future contracts it expects to negotiate (I'm a lawyer so am always focused on whether prior precedent is actually on point). Does anyone know whether offset language is typically (or has ever been) included in the contracts of non-rookie free agents? Not sure about non-rookie FAs, however you won't see the offset language in any rookie contract where that rookie has an ounce of leverage in negotiations. Mechanix544 07-18-2012, 04:37 PM It's the Texans currently. From what I understand, Kyle Shanahan still has some pull with that organization. It may cost us our 2015-2017 first rounders along with Griffin, but I think we can swing it...maybe. Prolly have to add that 2015 second rounder.........ugh. I'd still do it. mbedner3420 07-18-2012, 04:41 PM Prolly have to add that 2015 second rounder.........ugh. I'd still do it. Probably. From the scuddlebud out of the coaches that I've heard, he compares favorable to Drew Brees! CultBrennan59 07-18-2012, 05:18 PM Emeka Okafor (Wizards): $13.6 million ($72 million over six years).
