RGIII looking good thus far is a very good sign, but doesn't necessarily mean things are going to be so rosy come week 1. He is still going to be light years better than Grossman though.

Not sure he should have said "practice is harder than the games" That's borderline bulletin board material for opposing defenses. I like the confidence but slow your roll a bit Definitely didn't like the Garcon flip. No need for that right now When we drafted him, I thought Crawford would be one of those "damn, he sure is trying his best but he just can't keep up physically" kind of players. Seems I've been wrong. Though it does seem to characterize Brandon Banks somewhat I think the weak link on the line yesterday was actually the guy with the most experience. He's valuable as a reserve, but I'm not sure the team fully benefits from having Will Montgomery starting right now Kirk was average. Work in progress for sure I had the chance to talk with Chris Baker a couple of times last year. You could tell he was pretty passionate about putting in the work and he wasn't going to give up on being an NFL player. So good for him that he's doing so well. I took it as meaning the repetitions and mental aspect were tougher.. plus he has to go against a D that knows the O. I found the same to be true in football. Kind of coincided with KS saying he wanted RG3 to go out and "have fun" tryfuhl 08-12-2012, 12:43 AM Disagree, if RG3 goes down our season is toast, no need to let Rex win us 2 games. Why not let the youngster play and learn on the job for possible trade bait down the road. Part of Cousins problem was he had to use Banks as a primary receiver, I think some of that was by design from the coaches to see if he can play WR. We shall see, 3 more games to play for Mr Cousins. Lose the locker room if you give up on the season that early. What would they playing for? Why would they want to stay here? tryfuhl 08-12-2012, 12:48 AM Vinilla eh? As far as a whole "gentleman's agreement" goes, I doubt it. The Bills weren't in the know when G.W. went with 10 guys the game after S.T. died, so I doubt they communicate too much. I think the Bills were just planning on going vanilla anyways, and obviously we didn't have a complaint with that. Happens plenty in the preseason.. jets not going wildcat this year... the Payton/Harbaugh fiasco last year etc Not a lot of pass blitzing in the preseason SBXVII 08-12-2012, 12:49 AM it's more common for scrimmages like the pats/saints thing they did this year, or the couple times the skins did a combined practice with the ravens. I guess this is why I ask. I was just ahead of a story with any sort of agreements..... Lewis asked Jets not to run Wildcat? | Yardbarker.com (http://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/rex_ryan_marvin_lewis_asked_me_not_to_run_the_wild cat/11434393) Head coach Rex Ryan didn't run the Tebow-based Wildcat at all on Friday night against the Cincinnati Bengals and claims the reason was an unusual agreement he made with his opposing coach, Marvin Lewis, before the exhibition game. Ryan explained that the Bengals coach called him (http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000048713/article/marvin-lewis-asked-rex-ryan-for-wildcatfree-game) before the game and asked him not to. I'm sure the Skins wouldn't have done anything like this with a new Rookie QB. The Goat 08-12-2012, 11:21 PM Finally got to watch the game from DVR. The defensive front 7 looked good. Very stout and stingy up front. The secondary wasn't as sharp, although personally I think it (already) looks better than last season. Griffin looked poised and confident, even when he had the defense flying at him. In regular season he'll take off with the ball a few times and the defenses will start staying home to simply contain him...bet on it. Garcon already has won me over with his toughness. I went back and peeked at vids of Garcon and he has been pretty fearless over the middle, but he struggled underneath in space and I think that's why Waybe was the consistent go to guy. We already have a very good WR working underneath and finding open space in Moss, so I think Garcon and Moss will compliment each other well this season. Not really sure what to think of Morgan. He doesn't look very sure-handed though. I think we should be very tough by the second half of the season, which is a good thing looking at our schedule. The Goat 08-13-2012, 04:40 PM Did anyone notice how poorly Niles Paul played? His blocking was suspect and so far at least he has terrible hands. Kinda makes me question why we didn't grab Ballard or another quality TE during the off-season. Also, Morris looks very promising. I wonder if he'll be an upgrade over Royster? Helu is still our fastest guy and his vision is improving, definitely a keeper. Hopefully, Hightower can be 100% this season though. Maybe Hightower, Helu and Morris? If Hightower can't go hard Royster gets to stay? SmootSmack 08-13-2012, 06:10 PM Did anyone notice how poorly Niles Paul played? His blocking was suspect and so far at least he has terrible hands. Yes, I too question why we didn't grab a TE who won't play this season RGIII 08-13-2012, 07:42 PM If Paul has 2 more games like that one, he won't make the cut. |
