I beleive the Jet's are going to get involved for Coles before it's all said and done, my prediction is that they will convince Coles to do what he has to do to accomadate a trade back to the Jet's, if the Jet's don't get involved then I believe he will be back.

I went with yes simply because I can't see us finding a deal that works for both parties.

Simply well put!

I voted no, but I won't be surprised if he's back at this point simply because if they are going to move him, it needs to happen very quickly.

That's not to say Snyder and co. aren't working the phones like crazy right now trying to get something done.

Wouldn't it be great to be a fly on the wall at Redskins Park right now? Talk about a great reality show!

No. I can't see Gibbs keeping a player on this team that said he doesn't want to be here. The only way he is still on the team is if he changes his mind about returning the 5 million in exchange for his release. he has already said he won't give the 5 back in a trade, but as far as I know he will still give it back for his release. Not getting the 5 million in cap relief would force Gibbs to keep him, but otherwise he's gone.

I voted no because him sticking around after all of this has been aired out, would have a terrible affect in the lockerroom. I'm sure some players knew he felt this way but now everyone does and with him being someone who was thought as a team leader, that type of negativity just can't be here. One bad game and maybe his attitude gets rubbed off onto another player or 2 and keeps spreading. We need to just cut the problem off at this early stage and if he wants out of here as badly as it seems, find a team he wants to go to not named the cowpies or iggles, get him to rework his contract, and get him the hell out of here. He has to realize the team has all the power in this situation and with the cap hit we'll take for getting rid of him and what was given up to get him, he should realize the team more than likely won't let him go if they can't get anything in return.

I'll agree it's "nice" of Coles to have kept this quiet until now, but I know I for one lost all respect for the guy trying to whine and bitch his way out of town after ONE bad season in which everyone around the league knew it'd be a learning year for Coach Gibbs and his offensive schemes.

I vote no. I think Joe Gibbs told the players that if someone didn't want to be there, he would try to accomodate them. Coles is willing to give back the $5 million IF HE GETS RELEASED. He's not willing to give it back if he gets traded. I think if push comes to shove, Gibbs will take him up on the $5 million give-back and try to accomodate his move out of Redskin park.

Coles wants out, but he doesn't want to give up any cash. He knows that if he's a free agent, he can afford to give up the $5 million because he knows a big signing bonus would be coming his way in free agency. That wouldn't be the case with a trade.

Releasing him would suit Gibbs as long as it doesn't kill the cap, he wants to be true to his word and treat players with respect. If Gibbs kept Coles against his wishes, he would lose a lot of credibility in the locker room. The only way they wouldn't release him outright is if he refuses to give back the $5 million altogether.

I voted yes!! This reminds me of the Sean Gilbert situation. Coles agreed to a contract and he knew what type of offense that we'd be running in 2003. Now, here comes Gibbs the GREAT and Coles knew that Gibbs would be a bit rusty with play calling and such but Coles STILL caught 90 passes. Now what is really the matter Coles??? Afraid of catching the short passes and EARNING that heap of cash you collect game in and game out?? Or do you really just wanna take the ballerina way out and run deep routes with your buddy Chad??

If I was Snyder, I’d make him sit and not play him the entire season. Why should we grant him his release if he’s not willing to help us out? This act by coles is not only selfish but extremely ungrateful as well. I mean……he saw what the jets thought he was worth. And why the h#ll does he think he can effectively catch deep balls if his bum toe isn’t repaired to get good separation off the line???? He’s damaged goods…..he needs to get the surgery and apologize to Gibbs, Snyder and the fans!!!!

I think Coles will be back. Nobody will be able to work a contract to satisfy him in the next few business days. He will play hard and keep quiet. If the Skins start to win, he won't whine for long.

Very true. I would kind of like to see that situation. See the Redskins hold to their guns and see Coles just bury the hatchet during the season maybe by bringing in a big FA (Mason) and lighting a fire under his ass.

He should be made to return and play out his contract. It's time for the Redskins to play hardball with these type personalities. You cannot allow the Inmates to run the aslyum.
