Those other scenarios are pure speculation and I highly doubt there is much truth to them. A player and a high pick for Coles? Please.

I don't really think the Jets deal seems done at all. That report kind of glosses over it, saying that really the only thing that stands in the way is that pesky salary cap issue. But what is important to remember is that we would A) have to get Samuels to complete his restructuring and B) have to get Coles to agree to pay back that bonus. Otherwise the deal just isn't feasible in any way shape or form. If both of those things happen, then I would go out and say that it is probably a done deal, but Coles said he wouldn't pay his bonus back unless we release him. And why would he do us any favors so we could send him to the Jets, a team with the only offense more conservative than ours last year IMO and with a QB who quite possibly can no longer throw the deep ball.

I wouldn't go so far as to say Coles is a top 10 receiver. A top 20? Possibly. Maybe a few years ago, pre-toe injury he would have been a top 10 receiver.

Coles for MOss is apples for apples. I think they might as well go ahead with that deal

I would agree with that. I don't feel like looking it up but how old is Moss?

First he had career high 90 catches this year hurt. He lead our team in recieving yards since he been on the team. Under Gibbs he caught this many passes double covered most of the season and with a shity quarterback for most of the season. He has a 5th gear of speed that only elite players have. He is not a bad public relations person, even if this thing about him wanting to leave is out there, he has still stated that if he had to stay on the team he would and play hard as well. Tell me 10 wide receivers better than him please...

He was the 7th highest reception player in the NFL and not to mention he was in horrible offensive system.

Again, it's been a long day and I really don't feel like naming them, but I seriously could easily name 10-15 players better than Coles. I WILL say though, I'm talking about Coles NOW and not Coles when he DID have the 5th gear. I love the man and love how he plays, hurt or not. I just don't think he's in the elite receiver class that he used to be. A great receiver? Yes. Elite receiver? I wouldn't go quite that far.

OK, here are some more questions:

1. Suppose the Coles-for-Moss deal does go through. Do we still draft a wideout at #9?

2. Does a trade like this constrict the Skins' ability to sign any more free agents of any value, like a cornerback or maybe Derrick Mason?

3. And do we need somebody like Derrick Mason to compliment Santana Moss? Remember, we're replacing TWO starting wide receivers.
