American Horror Story: Asylum

FINALLY watched this show and DAMN, this seriously pushes the boundaries of what I thought you could show on TV. VERY scary though. Is going to go on the permanent rotation...

Should I watch the first two or was just this week's good enough to be caught up?I definitely think you should watch the first two even though you can probably catch up without them.
I LOVED the first season (esp since Jessica Lang basically played an evil version of my grandmother) and I can say the 2nd episode of this season was right up there with last year.

Sweet, I'll do it then. After watching that last night I just could not BELIEVE what they showed on there. Hallway beej?! LOOOL.

Love this show. From the creator of Nip/Tuck, so I was ready for the shocking content... but AHS captures a horror sensibility very rarely seen on television. Same creator as Glee, too (go figure).

End of the episode was kinda sick though. Explains those weird dead-alive people outside the asylum.

Loved seeing Franka Potente as Anne. She's a chameleon actress.

I've watched all of this seasons so far and I watched last season. I'm into horror films, so when I saw the previews for this last year, I was really interested. I have to say that last season was significantly better than this one for me. That being said, I've liked this season. Last season, just had a different feel to it...it felt more like it could happen to anyone, for me. This season seems a little more disconnected from everyday life, but it's still very good.

The two seasons are quite different from one another but they share a few key cast members. I will say that this season started picking up somewhat with the rumors about Dr. Arden in the last episode. For some reason, that storyline has been the most interesting for me so far. I knew they would have to come up with a way to explain his sadism, I'd say that this is as interesting as any.

I didn't watch Season 1. Was it a period piece as well or was it current?It was current but with a ton of flash backs. Basically it was your standard haunted house ghost story, but they did frequent flash backs every episode to show the history of the house. I highly recommend you get it on Netflix or something.

As for last night - I have a seriously bad feeling about Dr. Thredson but it's not really based on anything except a hunch. I wouldn't be too shocked to find out he's the real Bloody Face.

Also, how about that the casting for the young Dr. Arden/Gruber!! That guy looked EXACTLY like James Cromwell.

Where did you find the younger version of James Cromwell?
That’s his son! When we were casting that part, James said, “Well you have to f—ing cast my son—he looks just like me.” He walked in and indeed he did. We cast him on the spot. You can’t beat the synchronicity and luck of that. James’ son looks exactly like him at that age. It was perfect.
