I will say this. This was not the most memorable game but I have a hard time remembering a more satisfying victory. Even now I'm in some sort of this weird combination of emotions that I can only describe as pissed off happy. Every time I think about the Giants ownership my blood boils.

I have great respect for their players and their front office people but the stunt John Mara pulled this past offseason was enough for me to consider the Giants a bigger rival then the Cowboys. I mean it' one thing to get into a rivalry based on tradition but it's another thing where an opposing owner of a division rival is deliberately trying to sabotage your team. And it's not like we don't know from his statements at the owners meeting that his real goal was to stop the Redskins from acquiring RG3, but instead he settled for the cap penalties.

Nice win ,congratulations to all the Skins and their fans.

True gentleman. Now lets hope you drop one or two more games and we run the table. :)

Irrelevant unless it's a failed play...then it's Kyle's fault right?

Kid is never going to give any of the Shanahans credit for anything. Super Bowls? Nope. One of top offenses in league on two different teams? Nope.

It's never ending with this guy. It's all RGIII out there. He's calling the plays. He designed the scheme. He's blocking. He's catching his own passes. Nope. Nobody else. Just RGIII.

I hate some fans.

I thought the screens were bad calls themselves last night but otherwise it was a solid game for offense. My point, and I think it's obvious, is there's a lot of ways you could scheme/coach this offense to win. Does that make sense?

Specific to Kyle the play-calling has improved over the last three games. Before that play-calling was bad to avg. I realize you'll never agree with this, but I think the results spoke for themselves.

Along those lines, among all the guys I watch/talk football with the most memorable Redskins play this season is sending RG3 out to catch a pass against Ryan Clark. That play was a microcosm of the season up to three weeks ago. The play-calling/coaching has improved. It seems pretty simple to me.

The only thing that worries me is that the cowboys might feel motivated to play the role of spoiler...

Cowboys have identical record and play us again. I think they have something to play for.

Fair enough...not exactly what you've been saying in this thread up to this point...but fair enough. Moving on

Well, to be clear it's fanfukintastic we're pulling it together right now. Mike and Kyle and Haslett have all started to earn their pay and the right to keep their jobs :)

I have said all along that when everything the Shannys have done starts translating to wins I will shower them with praise. I finally see a lite at the end of the tunnel. After the Panthers game i was at my all time low with Haz and the Shannys. After the Philly game i thought "hell everybody beats them but we beat em worse". After Dallas i still found doubt creeping in because the odds were eventually we had to beat them on turkey day. But - after last nite Im ready to exhale and rejoice in the fact that Shanny hasnt been wasting my time as a Skins fan for three years. Part of me still wants to say RG-3 has saved everybodys job but after watching the complete and utter confusion of a great defense last nite it is official. My hope was with RG-3 that he would be a perfect marriage to Shannys offense. My God its more than perfect. The oline, the run game with Almo - another perfect fit in his offense. Griff when he gets out of the pocket, or they run the pistol and the option! I have never seen a defense second and third guessing themselves to the point where they are frozen like last nite. Even Haz i am having second thoughts about being gone. His track record is crap but for continuity sake lets keep the guy and get him a secondary and Rak and Carriker back and see what happens. I think the guy is finally adjusting and realizes there is nowhere left to go but up. Secondary and RT in free agency and the draft. Davis, BW, Rak and Carriker back. A sprinkle of depth. Youth everywhere you look. My God the future is bright. Thank you Shanny for showing me you actually were building something!

Ok so I go to a Giants message board cause I wanted to see what they were saying after last nights loss. lol. It was all typical threads from fans who are passionate about their team losing.lol. but this one had me signing up to be a member to say something only to find out I can't right away. lol.

How much slobbering can we take? (http://boards.giants.com/showthread.php?24370-How-much-slobbering-can-we-take)

I know RGIII can play but how much friggin' obsession can we take? The kid put up a whopping 17 points at home and beat a team that had a million penalties by one point.
He was the beneficiary of a great running game and he fumbled in the red zone and was lucky enough to have it caught in the air by a teammate and taken in for a score. He threw for an all time record of 163 yards. He was responsible for 245 yards total. Eli was responsible for 285 yards.
Yes, he's seems like a great talent but this was far from a dominating performance. The same nonsense happened with Mike Vick until the reality of the NFL struck an undersized running QB.

So lets all just calm down ESPN, NFLN or whoever wants to anoint this kid to superstar status. Lets see if the kid can survive with this playing style, and do more than lead a .500 team.

Ultimately you have to be able to throw the ball if you want to be a winner. Its a passing league. He's very athletic but he's not making those tough throws into tight windows and I doubt that will ever be true with him.
I like the kid. I like his attitude for the most part. But we've seen what happens to these types of QB's when they aren't pure passers.
They end up getting killed.

Then a reasonable Giants fan:

17 points for a SB was good enough for MVP around here.
the rookie led a 4th qtr comeback against the SB champs on prime time MNF.
over-hyped my ***........what about this ignorant "elite" **** we've heard from the media for ages now....
hell we have 150 page threads about that crap.

let 'em give the devil his due.
had Eli managed more than 3 points the second half , we would have been
hearing all the media junk about Eli and the Giants showing up when when
their back is against the wall or when it really matters....blah blah blah.

well last night RGIII came back in the 4th qtr and won the game.....and all the tie-breakers.

here are their numbers ; just in case anyone cares.

-----------------------ELI-------------------RGIII
TD passes.........16.....................17
INT's thrown........11.....................4
passing yards.....3170.................2677...(with 61 less passes thrown than Eli)
rushing yards........25....................714...(by the way...thats only 120 less than Ahmad Bradshaw)
total yards...........3195................3391
QB rating.............85.3.................104.4
pass comp. %......60.7%.............67.2%
yds per pass .......7.4...................8.2
dropped passes.....28..................28.

i know , you're gonna say stats don't matter......its the intangibles....
RGIII has stats and intangibles.

nobody *****es when the talking heads drool over ELI ,
so who cares ,the kid deserves the hype just as much as anybody else does.

or are we gonna go with the "refs and penalties" or the "we beat ourself" bullspit.

What I would have written on their board is the rest of the NFCE has had to listen and deal with the slobber jocking over Eli for the last decade and his family. (vomit). Now that he is an old toy close to the end of his playing time he's not getting as much attention. (too bad). However during the first game between the two teams all I saw was commercials with Eli in them, interviews with Eli in them, the announcers talking about how Eli is doing this year, how Payton is doing this year, how Archie was the best thing since sliced bread throughout the whole game.

So now that they are forced to hear someone other then their beloved Eli they get upset. They get pissed. Welcome to the waking up and smelling the coffie and getting a heavy handed dose of your own medicine.

I also would have said: RG3 might not be all that great (as I saw Eli back in the day after he was drafted) to them but his numbers show differently. Luck is not getting all the attention around here cause he's not in the NFCE. Luck has 16 INT's for the season and RG3 only has 4. Yeah Luck has his team 8-5 (or whatever) but his division I think is much easier then the teams the NFCE had to play. Plus Luck does not have as many starters IRed on his team as RG3 and the Skins do.
