Niles Paul is decent but he isn't going to break one for 75-80 yards on punt returns or 100 yards on kickoffs. He doesn't have the speed. Aldrick Robinson should be given an opportunity to run back punts and kicks He has the speed and the burst. But Robinson fumbled a few times on punt returns in the 2011 preseason and it landed him on the practice squad.I like Paul on kickoff returns, but you're probably right about Robinson being a better option. I want to see Robinson get more chances in the offense too after he made big plays against Philly and Dallas.
Garcon is too valuable. But all in all, Banks needs to be replaced. The only time he ever runs one back is in the preseason to prevent from getting cut. When he's on the opening day roster, he doesn't do much all year. Kyle Shanahan said earlier in the year that they would try to utilize what Banks can do offensively but Banks hasn't been heard from on offense for weeks. I'm not sure where he fits it.
We desperately need another return man.
I would be completely content with Niles Paul returning kicks full time. While banks is still here, leave him to punts unless Moss is up for it.. I'd rather go with paul on kicks and Moss on punts every time though.

I agree with this. Niles Paul is capable of having a higher yards per return average on kickoffs than Banks. Moss on the other hand is valuable to the offense but given the game he had against the Lions 4 years ago when he returned a punt return for a TD shows that he is capable. While Moss has indeed lost a step it doesn't matter because he can return it for 6.

Niles Paul reminds me of a Rock Cartwright returner, he probably will never be known for taking it all the way, but will consistently get good starting position. I agree about Aldrick Robinson, maybe let him have a shot or two if we are either way up, or down by 2 scores, see how he does.

Has anyone noticed Banks gains more yardage running sideways than actually return yards?

Another reason why Danny Smith needs to be evaluated since he hasn't replaced Banks on kickoffs or punt returns.
