I think the Niles Paul experiment will come to an end at the end of this season. He can get open, but what's the point in that if he can't catch the durn ball?
He can't hold on to it either per his fumbled kick return that we got lucky and got overturned.
Apparently he's a decent blocker on the line (supposedly) and awesome on ST. After this year I'd cut Banks and Paul. As we have seen we have another KR and we have Young to run block. Lets find and actual TE who can catch and block.

Paul's been targeted 17 times this year, and has caught 9. He's around 52%. Logan Paulsen is 19 for 31, around 61%. So, in terms of stats and %, you wouldn't think Paul is very far behind, but he's dropped a lot of passes that were right in the bread basket. That's not to say the other receivers haven't been guilty of the same thing through.
I might be way off but if I remember correctly most of Paulsen's were either over throws, dirt balls, or thrown behind him. He usually catches the balls thrown right to him. Usually.
Paul on the otherhand seems to drop every pass thrown his way. His catch in the Dallas Thanksgiving day game suprised me. At first I was like Oh we got a man open, then it was like "oh he's bobbled the ball", then I was like "Oh he caught it", then I was like "Oh crap thats Paul.... he actually caught it."

I've heard others say Paul is a good blocker on offense but when I watch games for the second time around I see him whif and basically miss the action over and over. Maybe he's good part of the time, but several of the big hits on RG especially in the pocket are on Paul.

Smoot, that may be true. But if Banks is so worthless, then why hasn't Mike Shanahan made a move on him, especially given yesterday's topflight performance on punt returns by Richard Crawford who received a game ball from the head coach? Banks is worth something if very little. If he wasn't Shanahan would have cut Banks like he did with John Beck.
I actually would cut him and bring in a kickoff specialist. More value at this point.

Any word on whether or not Crawford will be returning kicks?

The Redskins need to draft a TE and put Paul back at WR like where he should be. Niles Paul can't even catch a cold.

I just never understood Paul's switch to TE. He didn't play TE in college @ Nebraska and he caught only 2 passes from Rex Grossman all last season playing WR. Despite the fact that he had a TD reception against the Dallas Cowboys, the selection to place Paul at TE hasn't helped the team offensively. Even when Paul is in the game, he's supposed to be faster than the LBs covering him, but they manage to stay with him. He's plays like Otis Wonsley on special teams but he truly has NO PLACE in the Redskins offense.

Don't get me started on Polumbus. I mean, you're right. But when protection has broke down on the left side (blindside) it's often been Paul missing a blocking assignment.
And sure accidents happen. I know Young missed an assignment that led to RG getting trucked once...it happens. Can't remember the specific game.
But with Paul he's missing blocks, dropping passes, doing nothing after the catch unless aside the one TD that was blown coverage. It's pretty bizarre he's on the field apart from special teams. Again, it's a Mike thing, been a Mike thing for a long time with different players/coaches.
