firstdown, I enjoy your Grinch-ness, but I also kind of agree.

It's like, there are never any new Christmas songs, so it seems played out. Like imagine one time a year, it's ALL 80s hits.

By the 24th time of hearing Toto, "Africa", you'll be wanting to rip your ears off.

I love christmas I just don't need to hear Christmas music 60 days prior to christmas. I love playing a Christmas CD while riding around with my daughter or Christmas morning. I just can't get my Jolly Saint Nick going in Novemder until the end of December.

How dare you. I love Christmas music. In part because I can play it at work at a low volume on speakers and not get any complaints because well it helps with the atmosphere. Better then awkward silence.

Still if you're into punk and alternative theres a lot of great Christmas music. Smashing Pumpkins (http://youtu.be/LimfDX4-imU) probably has the most popular Christmas song that isn't traditional or pop.

Some others I can think of:
Marvelous 3 - Merry Christmas (http://youtu.be/uUrYTkIBfeI)

No Doubt - Oi to the World (http://youtu.be/wEBBVh4-eOA)

AKA - Christmas in Hollis (http://youtu.be/4Qe1GIdC5DA)

Eve 6 - First Noel (http://youtu.be/bbwUu4N2M8I)

Love those a lot Dirtbag. I'll have to get those to my wife. She turns on the traditional Christmas channel when we're making dinner and I'm like ARGH!

And like firstdown, I love Christmas and everything about it, the music just needs updating and those links give me hope. It's a Christmas miracle!

My wife loves the traditional Christmas tunes, and I like some of them, but I also like some of the updated stuff too. I'm a HUGE Trans Siberian Orchestra fan!

I like the traditional stuff. Not Mairah Carey's Christmas Remakes.

Same here...traditional stuff...play if 24/7 and it won't bug me.

We usually turn on the Sirius holiday channels on the TV while we eat dinner. Last night, some putrid pile of steaming audio excrement came into my ears, nearly causing me to choke on my soft taco. The tree was blocking the view of the TV from the dining room table to I jumped up and dove for the remote. It was called "Xtina's Xmas" by Christina A-aaaa---aaaaahhhh---guuu-guu-gugugugu-llllllaaaaaaaahhhhhhh-lalalalalalalahhhhrrrrr-aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh-ahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

She murders every song she sings. O holy crap.

Hit channel down and luckily there was some nice, safe Rudolph playing.

Heard this on the radio today. Awesome.

My wife loves Christmas music, so once Black Friday is upon us, it's stuck on her car radio, and somehow it used to get stuck on mine too. So I got into the habit of freestyling my own lyrics to Christmas songs because if I'm stuck listening to the same 10-15 songs sung by 47 artists for a month straight, I might as well make it more interesting for me. She eventually got so pissed at me for "ruining" songs that she won't listen to it with me anymore. I've learned to tolerate it more and stopped freestyling and she doesn't get mad if I change the station when we're in the car together. I do however wish I had written some of the lyrics down...

Heard Elvis' "Blue Christmas" this morning. That one is fun to sing along to.
