Who do we send the thank you card to for cutting Hall? Allen? Shanahan? Both?

He has to be. There are very few ways to put a roster together next year unless Hall is either gone or making less than $2.0 million. He'll either get a gigantic paycut or will hit the road. InsaneBoost 03-09-2013, 03:23 PM He's not gone just yet... Yet is the keyword. I'm just trying to get the thank you cards and baskets prepped. Schneed10 03-09-2013, 03:23 PM By the way, I think that the Paulsen and Young signings are the signal that we've given up the cap penalty fight. All along they've been telling agents to sit tight while they fought the penalty. Well agents clearly aren't sitting tight now that a few players are signing. It's over, time to take the medicine and gear up for player investment next season. It's over, time to take the medicine and gear up for player investment next season. Spot on. That Guy 03-09-2013, 05:33 PM yeah, if we're taking the hit, we should go young and cheap (in general). no sense in paying hall 8mill when he's getting older and we already know he can't play. I'd rather have a midlevel replacement + young + paulsen + lorenzo. JoeRedskin 03-09-2013, 06:35 PM I think Hall is as good as gone. He can talk all he wants about wanting to stay with the skins and pushing for the superbowl, but in the end, I see him taking the money elsewhere. He will prolly get between 5-7 million a year somewhere else, no way he signs here for under 5. I just can't see it. His play was VERY good the last 9-10 games of the season. He's gonna get his money. His contract looks too difficult to restructure with what we need, and the amount we have. Next man up. If he gets 5M or more/year I would be shocked. In addition to being old and average at best, the market is flooded with DB's on the backside of their prime. He would not even be the best CB on the market. Mechanix544 03-09-2013, 07:13 PM I think he will get a 3 year deal around 13-17 mil total, with about 9 guaranteed. And part of the reason that he got burnt so much last year is because of the horrid safety play the first 10-12 games last year. You put just an average guy back there at both safety positions, and Hall wouldn't have that statistical distinction. I wonder what his rank was the year before last in the same department, when our safeties weren't good, but they weren't as bad as this past years. I do think that is a very unfair statistic on Halls part. Like it or not, he was our best defensive back, and has been ever since he has been here. I hope he takes a huge paycut, and we can get him down to around 4.0 mil a year, maybe 4.5. But I doubt that will happen. CultBrennan59 03-09-2013, 08:07 PM Edit wrong thread |
