26-of-37 for 329 yards and two TDs.
Not too shabby.
RG3 is to Cousins as Aaron Rodgers is to Matt Flynn. No?

RGIII 04-03-2013, 09:49 PM 26-of-37 for 329 yards and two TDs. Not too shabby. RG3 is to Cousins as Aaron Rodgers is to Matt Flynn. No? artmonkforhallofamein07 04-03-2013, 10:19 PM I think we all know he needs to protect himself. Are people just repeating it in te media, we as fans, and so on because we don't think he knows that. Here is the deal, III knows it. He knew it after the ATL game. Hell maybe he learned after the Ngata hit that he needs to learn "how" to get down, not just that he needs to get down. The kid is super smart and football like many sports your performance is based off of instinct. Now after two knee surgeries all the pain, rehab, and the rest the kid (and I emphasize kid) will learn "how" to protect himself on a NFL football field. As far as Cousins performance down by ten with less then 6 minutes to go in a playoff game, and a defense that was dominating our line at that point he had no shot. skinsfaninok 04-03-2013, 10:19 PM 26-of-37 for 329 yards and two TDs. Not too shabby. And that's with him starting off terrible Alvin Walton 04-03-2013, 10:32 PM Are you being serious or sarcastic? I truly hope sarcastic because if not then it clearly means you know about as much about football as my ironing board. Totally serious. And I'll say the exact same about you. skinsnut 04-03-2013, 10:33 PM As of today:"Antoine Winfield is still weighing his free agent options, but he isn't expected to make a decision until at least next week." Antoine Winfield rumors: Cornerback still deciding between Redskins, Vikings - SBNation.com (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2013/4/3/4179192/antoine-winfield-rumors-no-decision-vikings-redskins) Lotus 04-03-2013, 10:38 PM I have to go back and watch the snaps Cousins took. I remember he had a clutch performance relieving am injured RG3 but, he did not show the same magic against SEA. Let's keep his limited play in perspective. And yes, Pat White hasn't showed or flashed potential to be a NFL QB. Cousins struggled against ATL, too. artmonkforhallofamein07 04-03-2013, 10:49 PM I am willing to give the guy a pass on both games. They were both firsts. Cousins was great against the Ravens in his second go round. Started off shaking against the Browns and found his rhythm at the end of the first quarter and kept it going till the final whistle. Then you have the pressure cooker that was the playoff game, once again another first for the rookie. The line at that point was getting beat almost every play, and when he went into the game their defense was clicking and extemely aggressive working with a ten point lead against an offense they had beaten for 2 1/2 quarters. MTK 04-04-2013, 08:42 AM I wouldn't call those scrambles necessarily. It was a designed run all right. Designed by RGII at the last second. He needs to learn to slide and protect himself. Hes not Christian Okoye. Huh? There's no in between, it's either a designed run or a scramble. Alvin Walton 04-04-2013, 08:58 AM Huh? There's no in between, it's either a designed run or a scramble. A scramble is moving out of the pocket to avoid a sack, most likely on a called passing play. The difference is instead of being happy with a small yardage gain or just getting back to the line of scrimmage our hero is going to look for a path to the goal line instead. Thats where he gets himself in trouble. MTK 04-04-2013, 09:04 AM A scramble is moving out of the pocket to avoid a sack, most likely on a called passing play. Thats where he gets himself in trouble. Well at least we can finally agree what a scramble is. When he was hurt against Atlanta and Baltimore both times it came on scrambles. I completely agree he needs to be smarter when running. That was the point I was going to lead up to, that's it's not always the plays putting him in danger. He needs to do a better job at protecting himself when running. The tough part is he's so dangerous when running, how do you find a middle ground when it comes to trying to make plays and being smart? |
