Does the same rule apply to the players changing styles of their helmets during the season? We have seen five Redskins change helmets over the last three or four games including London Fletcher, who has used a Riddell VS-4 helmet his whole career until Sunday night when he started using a Riddell Speed. What’s the difference? A change is a change. It has to be insulting to the equipment managers that the league doesn't trust them to fit the helmets properly, but I bet most of them are probably happy not to have another set of helmets to prepare during the season.
