Thanks for the advice. I've been to bars up and down the western part of Virginia and can't find it in most places. Hopefully they send it SOMEWHERE close by.

Otherwise, I pretty much drink beer. I'll have the occasional Bombay and Tonic SmootSmack 03-12-2005, 07:56 PM Make your own drink (http://www.cocktaildb.com/mixilator/index) redrock-skins 03-12-2005, 10:08 PM Can you get Dogfish Head beer where you are? I know the owner, and they've got a few great beers. I've been on a red wine jag for the past year or so. At games I regress to my beer and shot days, but when I drink socially, I've been enjoying Italian Reds lately. Not sure if I can or not, but it sounds familiar. "Mac & Jacks" is another good one up here along with Deschutes. EternalEnigma21 03-13-2005, 01:31 AM Heineken & Amstel Light are my fav. winter beers & Corona and Dos Equis Amber are the better summer beers. I enjoy wild turkey & ginger ale and margaritas anytime, but my favorite drink is situational... The first day of the year that I get hot working in the yard i like to go out and get a sixer of Pete's Strawberry Blonde. That is a refreshing beer. JWsleep 03-13-2005, 01:54 AM Been drinking a lot of single malt scotch, recently. Macalland 12, neat. Going broke because of it, but man it's good. (I used to go with burbon more--Austin Nichols Wild Turkey 101, Makers--when I lived south of the Mason-Dixon line.) Guiness draft pulled slow by a proper Irish bar keep--Brendan's on 35th street; Freddy's in Prospect Heights. I went to Ireland last summer for my honeymoon, and you really can't get Guiness here, but I can dream... (Ireland kicks ass, btw!) In summer I drink a lot of Cuba Libres and Carona with lime. Tequilla shots are always good--I like Sauza, but I haven't tried that many kinds. I dig all the microbrews, though my standard is Brooklyn Lager, from the Brooklyn Brewing Company. They bottle a lot of their beer in Utica, NY, but they have abrewery in Williamsburgh Brooklyn where they do the kegs and lots of specalty beers. Good stuff. When in a pinch, I'll drink (almost!) anything. Haven't been near St. Ides since "the incident." SmootSmack 03-13-2005, 02:01 AM Been drinking a lot of single malt scotch, recently. "The incident" LOL....Nothing beats a Cuba Libre on a hot summer night...except maybe a good Piņa Colada. I became hooked on Mike's hard lemonade two years ago. Have one (at least) every Sunday during football season. But for some bizarre reason that's the only time I have it. CRT3 03-13-2005, 08:21 AM Belvedere on the Rocks and occaisonal Bookers, Knobbs Creek Bourbon on the Rocks and a good stiff spicy bloody mary on Sundays. Not a beer drinker but bought the wife a kegarator and it always has a keg of Molson going. She's the beer drinker. MTK 03-13-2005, 12:19 PM I'm a beer guy myself, but I'm not picky and I'll drink most anything that's put in front of me. I prefer a beer with some taste, Guinness being my all-time favorite. Black and tans are also nice. On those hot summer days it's tought to beat an ice cold Corona with a lime. I'm not above having something like Miller Lite now and then though, or back in college something really crappy like Milwaukee's Best. But I'm sure we've all had our share of bad beer in our college days. Nothing like flat keg beer left over from the night before, MMMMMM! LOL For mixed drinks I like 7&7's, VO & 7 and Bacardi and coke. I'm not really into the really sweet "girly" drinks, but an occasional pina colada is pretty damn good. LI ice teas are great too but they just kick your ass, not something you want to drink alot of. BDBohnzie 03-14-2005, 01:46 PM it's funny to look back at college, and realize the horrid crap we would drink because it was all we could afford... in my day, Natty Light was the cheap beer of choice...i believe we'd pay like 7/case for a party (local beer store ran 10 case specials, and Natty was always 70/10 cases)... however, i was a sophisticated beer snob (and still am), and instituted a tradition my brothers continue today...Import Night. once a week, we'd get together to drink and hang out together...except, the beer you bought had to be foreign or a microbrew...which for a 6 pack was usually the same price as a case of cheap beer. this way, you could see the advantages of hanging out to drink, but not get totally shitfaced. this past year, my fraternity brothers complained because Natty was up to 10/case...so now they partake in an infamous Maryland pastime called National Bohemian (or Natty Boh) because it's cheaper...i refuse to drink Natty Boh because they stopped selling it in the older jug bottles (think Red Stripe). the cheap beer i partake in these days (besides your run of the mill Bud Light, Miller Lite, etc) is Pabst Blue Ribbon. It's actually not too bad...not like it used to be. |
