I think that if we could get Brown he would be a good fit for rotation. That way he would stay healthy for the whole season and keep our DE's fresh for the whole game. Also maybe getting him back with LaVar may spark something and Brown might become more productive.

According to the Washington Post we are interested in Brown but will have to pay him $2m per season cos Cleveland are leaving an offer like that for him even after he is cut.

I wouldn't be interested in him at that price since he's had a history of spending more time on the bench hurt than anything. I agree with everyone else at this point: league minimum with incentives- let him earn a big paycheck. Hell that's actually not a bad idea for the entire NFL- players should play to earn their paycheck- BRILLIANT!

When I heard he was going to be cut, I immediately thought it would be a good signing for us if we could get him relatively cheap. We have a good scheme, a great d-coordinator... It could be a good gamble on a player with a big upside...

Anyone not think he would command a HUGE contract? I WOULD love the scenario of signing him to a short minimal contract, NOT a one-year deal.

Apparently, the Browns are keeping their current (rejected) offer on the table - which is a $2 million average. We would have to exceed that number, one would imagine.

And we have just over 2 mil in cap room (assuming Gardner's departure)??

He could really benefit from a change in scenery. He doesn't have much leverage when it comes to contract negotiations, he should come relatively cheap.

Blache worked wonders for our D-lineman last year, hopefully Brown will consider that when looking for a place to play.

That's excellent to hear he doesn't have any leverage. I would just like to sign him for more than a one-year deal, even though I would think that is what he would want.

Four year deal with minimum base salaries this year and next with a 4 mil signing bonus works decent. something like below might do it. if he stays healthy then one assumes he would be productive. this type of money for a productive guy would be great, this is not bad contract. if he is not healthy it is no big deal to cut him in 2007.
