TheMalcolmConnection I consider LaVar a great upfield rusher-but as an all around LB I rate him B+-he also over runs plays WAY to often. You forget at Penn St. he was crashing the gate every play.

I think he's a pretty good ball player, but that's as far as it goes. I don't see many middle linebackers make as many plays after the first down has been made than Brian Urlacher. John Hasbrouck 03-14-2005, 12:41 AM TMConnection it would be great to have Taylor at OLB- would he be destructive there-a position-or we go to a 3-4 with Arrington-Marshall-Clemons-Taylor That Guy 03-14-2005, 02:39 AM TMConnection it would be great to have Taylor at OLB- would he be destructive there-a position-or we go to a 3-4 with Arrington-Marshall-Clemons-Taylor um, what happened to washington?? offiss 03-14-2005, 03:10 AM TMConnection it would be great to have Taylor at OLB- would he be destructive there-a position-or we go to a 3-4 with Arrington-Marshall-Clemons-Taylor I guess we can take an oversized safety who may go down as 1 of the great's of all time, and make him an undersized LB who instead of killing WR's will be getting hit by offensive linemen, TE's, and fullback's, doesn't sound like a well thought out plan to utilize his talent's? TheMalcolmConnection 03-14-2005, 08:40 AM I guess we can take an oversized safety who may go down as 1 of the great's of all time, and make him an undersized LB who instead of killing WR's will be getting hit by offensive linemen, TE's, and fullback's, doesn't sound like a well thought out plan to utilize his talent's? Exactly. That's what I was saying about my post in case anyone got confused...:) Monksdown 03-14-2005, 09:06 AM um, what happened to washington?? Has anyone noticed that we never talk about Marcus Washington. What is the deal guys? He is a playmaker. And he was a big part of our success on D last year. MTK 03-14-2005, 10:03 AM Agreed about Washington. He's a quiet star, but if he has a repeat of last season in 2005 I think we'll start to hear alot more about him. He's not a household name just yet, but he's well on his way. sportscurmudgeon 03-14-2005, 12:45 PM Someone said that Arington has a good seven years of linebacking ahead of him. For the team's sake that better be right or they could face a big cap hit if they have to release him. Someone said that Arrington makes up for his mistakes when he's playing at his best. Excuse me, but you don't think that's equally true of Brian Urlacher or Ray Lewis? Someone talked about how Arrington is always sacrificing his body. Sorry, that's one thing I've never noticed. Remember, he sat out about 80% of last season with an injury that was supposed to keep him out three games and a bye week. I'm not saying he was dogging it, but he sure wasn't "sacrificing his body". If you have a 3-4 defesne with Arrington, Marshall, Clemons and Taylor as the linebackers, you damned well better have some outstanding run-stoppers at all three DL positions or teams will run the ball down your throat all day long. The linebackers will never get to blitz because it will always be 2nd and 3... Monksdown 03-14-2005, 12:58 PM Someone said that Arington has a good seven years of linebacking ahead of him. For christ's sake, he started on the NFC Pro Bowl Team! |
