Well, the thing is, unless the team is mathematically eliminated from the playoffs (and I don't think they are technically eliminated yet) you can't really sit players, because that's like waving the white flag. That's a sure sign that your coaching staff has given up (even though that could be true) you don't want to send that message to the players. However, Wilson being hurt would be a good excuse for allowing Amerson to start the rest of the year, and to bring in Rambo more as well. Once it's official that the Redskins are eliminated, then I see no problem with sitting starters down (especially the ones you want or "hope" are retained) and allowing their backups some game time. Would like to see RGIII not be killed before the season is over with.

Amerson is better than Wilson . I was wondering where he was last night. Was he hurt ? He was a bright spot in the back end for a bit.

The fact that Wilson is still on the field is amazing to me, I had 2 people call me last night and say the same thing

Wouldn't be an inexcusable move from a football perspective, but from a locker room perspective, veterans taking the blame for the loss by losing their job before coaches do is poor form.

If Amerson starts at corner next Sunday I wouldn't be shocked.

Minniefield for Wilson would hardly be a big shakeup. Things could even get worse.

I don't think it can get worse. Wilson gets beat, Minnifield would get beat. Might as well, it'd just be a sidegrade at worst. If anything maybe Minnifield can pretend to look focused. Wilson looks like he's in Lala Land half the time. I've never seen a DB get so turned around like Wilson. He plays so far off the receivers, I can't believe Haslett is telling him to play that far off. He has ZERO catchup speed. If Wilson gets burned, he gets BURNED. Its like Justin Tryon is back on the team again.

I could hardly believe people were defending him last season. He's always been horribly, horribly bad.

Worse than what? Minnifield would be an upgrade, younger, faster. Give the kid a chance.

Wilson was beat bad and often last night... That being said, I believe his injury had something to do with that... My question is not the talent of Wilson, it's why was he out there to begin with? It was obvious he was not anywhere near 100%, not that he is a great player when he is... But we don't have anybody else?

Why was he kept out there?

Wilson was injured? Come on, Shanahan's not stupid enough to let an injured guy play when he obviously stinks and needs to be sitting.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me... can't get fooled again.

Everyone knows I've hated Josh Wilson for years now. I'd rather have a dead guy out there playing than Wilson.

All I could think of last night as Wilson got spun around and around... was you D-Rave. I know he drives you to drink, did you have to get your stomach pumped last night?
