Only 3 people in and the cutoff is on Thursday. Lets pick it up folks.

Can you get us the Pool ID? For some reason they want me to do a SMS verification (giving them phone number) to join and that isn't going to happen. I'll be damned if I"m going to have Yahoo pimp out my number to marketers to spam me.

This is why I did not start the pool back up again. I saw this thread yesterday and went to re-start it...and it wanted my cellphone number to send ads to. Not happening. Yahoo's been nagging me for years for my number when logging into e-mail. They would not let me start the league without getting a code text messaged to me and the fine print said something about sending me ads.

Sorry about the delay...been very busy lately and won't even have time to participate anyway...prepping for a big surgery and some time in the hospital next week.

Glad someone bit the bullet and started it back up for you. Good luck to everyone that plays.

I think monkey made it last year and did a good job. I'll nominate him this year to do it again. Thanx

Thanks. I've actually done it for many years...time been slipping away from me lately and it was mid-March before I even realized it!

As long as Yahoo doesn't want my phone number to start up a fantasy football league, I'll start our annual WP league back up again this fall.

Have not watched much ball this season but I'll root for VCU if the Terps aren't in it.

I'm in. Haven't picked all the games yet, though.

Come on, people; sign up. If I'm going to destroy the competition, I wanna destroy 20 others, not 2. :joecool:

Is there a way to register without putting in your phone number? If so, I'm clearly not savvy enough to figure it out on my own.

Just reply STOP to the number that sends you the SMS and they will stop sending to you...

or submit the form that is linked in the link above...

Why even have that shit to begin with? It's unnecessary.

That's AFTER they obtain your number though.

Is it necessary? Of course not. But if you want to use their services, and want a way to keep it secure, this is an alternative way. If your account is jeopardized, SMS is one way to get your account unlocked.

I not only did the above, but I went into my Yahoo Account settings and deleted the phone number as well.

Security is not their main objective when they gather your personal info.

Perhaps PMs should be sent out to participants from past years. We need more players.

To those of you who don't want to give your phone number, just do what BDBohnzie said: reply 'stop' to that number, then delete it from your account.
