I did a double take on the price, then I noticed the source.
He definitely got me good, I was questioning everything I thought I knew and almost posted a reply praising GTripp's insight.

Per Tony Pepperoni via Twitter :
Santana Moss signs with the Redskins for a one year deal worth 6.2 million, 5 million guaranteed, 1.2 in incentives.
Mechanix... You made my head explode. Don't mind the Moss signing, but when I saw 6.2 I nearly had an aneurysm.

If we have a plan for a true #2 receiver (Hankerson? draft?) we could have a fairly potent air attack next year.
1) Garcon
2) ?
3) Roberts
4) Moss
Moss can get it done as a #4 receiver.
The answer to #2 is Reed.

Santana has been a great Redskin but it's just time to move in another direction. I don't get this re-signing at all.

It is probably close to vet minimum and Santana seems like a good team guy, like an off the field leader, like a mentor to new guys, and like a great 5th WR.

Yeah this. I don't think this deal exceeds $1.5M, if even that.

I was talking only about WR's.
But while we are on the topic, if I am the FO I am making a backup plan regarding Reed, who might be one knock on the head away from being done. IMO we need to sign/draft a pass catching TE.

nothing but love for moss. 2005 was amazing for him. he's just a guy now, but you need depth, so...
