Kyle is their new OC. He doesn't exactly fit Kyle's prototypical OL description.
I don't know. According to Keim the Redskins brought him here because he's seen as a good zone blocker.
Free-agent analysis: Shawn Lauvao (http://espn.go.com/blog/washington-redskins/post/_/id/6001/free-agent-analysis-shawn-lauvao?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed)
He's viewed as a good fit in an outside zone because of his ability to move. At 315 pounds, he has good size. But current right guard starter, Chris Chester, is only six pounds lighter.

He can probably pass protect well.....and run block....as long as he can block he should pan out fine.....

Never heard of this dude. Glad we got a linemen but can he play? If Cleveland is letting him walk then I have my concerns.
Yeah because Cleveland makes great personnel decisions. Like how just today they let TJ Ward walk and signed Donte Witner (an inferior talent) for more money. Not concerned.

After McRibust, I'm not so sure about that.
everyone knew that was a terrible pick at the time. if you take a 6-7th round talent in the 3rd round, that's on you (shanny).

You guys are commiserating on decisions made by the old regime and players acquired by them.
We have new coaching and we're getting new guys.

I'm saying to take PFF's grades with a serious grain of salt.

Rotoworld had him as the 10th best guard, so like you said, F**K a ranking, lets see if he can play.

Per USA Today: $4 million to sign, then bases of 2, 3, 4, and 4 in y1-4.
Pretty player-friendly structure. Even though the guarantee is $4 million, the effective guarantee is two years. Can't save money by releasing him until June 1, 2015.
Rich Tandler says exactly $3 million on the 2014 cap, and I'll confirm his math is correct.
Also according to USA today, some of the yearly salaries are tied up in workout bonuses (or de-escalators). So $17 million is the max value of the deal, but if Lauvao doesn't hit the workout bonus, he will earn less.

I read somewhere that he was good in pass protection but struggled in run blocking last season. I really don't know anything about him but if he's a good pass protector that would be a good thing.
